Hi guys. I interviewed at Einstein on November 17th and it went extremely well. I really liked the school and it is one of my top choices. However, the status on my secondary application page still says "Interview Report Submitted." Do you think I should send an Update Letter to the school or should I continue to patiently wait for a change in status? Thanks for your input and congrats on everyone's interview invites and acceptances.

I hope for your sake, kchen22, and everybody elses' that it means that we still have a chance. I've only made it to that status more recently (middle of Jan).

I probably will have lost hope by the 3 week point. Dreaming for an invite...

don't lose hope! i just got an e-mail invite this morning, status has been "preliminary screening completed" since late October. they're currently offering interview dates starting april 😱

That's great news for you 👍. Knock that interview out of the park!

April huh? Man, that's a long time to wait, and/or stall on any other acceptances. Man...

I'll stop checking the status report. I'll wait for an email. I'm gonna be cool about this.

Interview invite today!!

Complete sometime in August.
Never thought I stood a chance... :xf:

gave me dates starting with April 1st

finally got preliminary screening completed status today... hoping for an interview invite soon! :xf:

My status just changed to "Status is about to change" I'm post-interview. I'm praying I'm lucky enough to get in here!

I drove someone to Columbia from Einstein interview on 12/6. Wondering if you got in as well.

Hmm...I interviewed several weeks after you, but I'm noticing that people who have interviewed right around the same date as me have already heard. I'm still stuck at "interview report submitted". Anyone know what this means?

Can I ask when you interviewed (roughly)?

On the website it welcomes you to call about yout status if you haven't heard a decision within two months of your interview.

OMG!! My status changed today from "Interview Report Submitted" to "File with committee"

I'm so nervous!!! Einstein is my top choice.. interviewed first week of Jan

Mine says the same, and I interviewed back in Dec.

my status just changed to "File with committee" as well. IDreamtIChased, I think we interviewed on the same day in early January. Good luck!

I just withdrew my application to Einstein. My interview was scheduled for March 18th...hopefully someone can move up their interview (still a long way away I know..) or it opens up a spot. I haven't received a confirmation of my withdrawal, but I just figured I'd let everybody know in case they want to try to move up their interview. Best of luck to everybody!!!

Interviewed here recently. Interview went well and interviewer said I was a fantastic applicant and would definitely be admitted. I was waitlisted about ten days later. I am confused as to why I would be waitlisted after such a favorable reaction by my interviewer and why the quick decision for the waitlist? Why waitlist and not rejection? I would appreciate any insight into the process at Einstein. I understand that the waitlist does not move and feel like my trip to interview was a waste of money. Any thoughts?

Most of a med school's interviewees are waitlisted or rejected. You can't let yourself get incensed that one school didn't accept you.

You can have a great interview which is a plus; however, you still go up for committee review which means they'll look at your whole app again and possibly compare it to other applicants at the time. So it's no lock.

I would put money on one of two things....

1) you're a troll trying to make people get anxious.

2) you have a gigantic red flag in your application like, you lied about some aspect and the school did you favor by waitlisting instead of rejecting you and reporting you to AMCAS.

Good luck at your other schools.

ehh yeah could be. but hey when they take an application to committee now you're dealing w/ people who have never met you and they may have not liked something on his app in comparison to other interviewees.

Anyone know how long it takes to hear back after u get the 'file with committee" message?

were you really waitlisted TEN days after your interview? That seems excessive because it normally takes at least 2 months to hear back.

Um... I think people are giving too much attention to his post when he's clearly trolling to intimidate future interviewees. Every sentence he writes screams "You should cancel your interview here and not bother." One and only one post? Oh yeah, that's not suspicious at all.

There may be another status or two after that and then your status will ultimately reas "Status About to Change." Sounds like you've been waiting for a bit so you should get "Status About to Change" soon enough. You will have to wait until they send out another string of acceptances, though, which so far they have done every two weeks. Next one would be in line for mid-Feb. If you don't hear then then you should expect to hear during the next wave. If your status says "Status About to Change" before they send out a wave of acceptences, you should hear during that wave.

i hope i hear smth by mid-feb.. wait is killin me! Thx yankee..

This morning my status changed from "File with committee" to "Presenter's notes complete and ready for meeting"

also, I assume that I will be notified yea/nay/waitlist ASAP after the meeting. does anybody have an idea of when the meetings typically take place?

Einstein has been releasing decisions every two weeks so far (1/14, 1/28), so the next release of decisions should be this Friday, 2/11.

However, there is typically one more status you need to progress to - after "Presenter's notes complete and ready for meeting" comes "Status About to Change" (I assume this happens when a decision has been made).

If you do not make this Friday's cutoff (assuming Einstein stays on this two week release schedule), you should hear on 2/25.

Acceptances are sent via email, and I think waitlists and rejections are informed through status on the secondary app webpage (though they may very well be emailed as well - not sure).

Good luck! :luck:

You won't hear directly after the meeting. You'll hear on the day they have scheduled to send out the next wave of acceptances, and only after your status has already become "status about to change." It seems like they meet once a week and send out notifications every two weeks.

Where is 'interview report submitted' on the whole status spectrum?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but after your interview there is:

1) Interview report submitted
2) File with committee (although I never saw this on my status)
3) Presenter's notes complete and ready for meeting
4) Status about to change

As stated earlier by several posters, if you get to #4, you should hear during the next wave (every two weeks so far).

That's quite presumptuous of you. The same exact thing happened to me at AE (as well as a couple of other schools). I promise you I'm not a troll and I didn't lie on the app either. The only possible "red flag" on my application was a below average GPA, but I thought I made up for that with an excellent MCAT, perfect postbacc GPA, and some unique awards. My theory is that the interviewers, who are often doctors, care less about your GPA than the adcoms, who clearly can't see past an undergrad GPA. It's quite frustrating really.

i think he thought the OP was trolling because he was listed TEN days after interviewing. 10 days is a bit excessive.

Yep. And OP only ever made ONE post (suggesting he made a new account just for trolling purpose)... whereas you have nearly 500.

So? I know plenty of people that casually read SDN and never post. All it takes it an odd result (such as the one the poster described) and they may decide it's worth registering and posting. I seriously fail to see how the poster can be construed as a troll. Trolls would generally not post that they were NOT accepted.

Actually, its pretty easy to troll people saying you were rejected, to make other people worried. Exhibit A - scroll above.

Why oh why am I still "interview report submitted"?

Interviewed early December...

that's really odd. i would DEFINITELY call them.

Maybe they forgot about you? J/K but I interviewed 12/7 and have been "status about to change" for the past 2 rounds! Then again my interviewer told me "no news is good news" and I called the admissions office and am still in the running...the wait just sucks!!!!

Should be tomorrow if Einstein sticks with its two-week release schedule!

I would either say tomorrow (2 week release schedule) or mid february (2/14) if they just do two emails a month, one in the middle, one at the end. Either way those with status about to change should get an e-mail within a week.

It's most likely 2mrw it seems they do 2 week releases, I looked at the thread for last year and it seemed to be the same thing.
