Interview invite, also scheduled for 8/28. Looking forward to seeing fellow SDNers there!

If it helps, I was complete 7/8. Never got a complete email or saw a change in my status on their secondary app page... the invite email was it.

Interview scheduled for Sept. 11th.

Complete 7/2. OOS 35Q/3.7something.
 
Emailed them about a LOR issue and they said I wouldn't be complete until I fixed it, but then a few days letter got an email saying I was complete (I haven't submitted another letter). :xf:

scheduled my interview on 9/11 so flights would be cheaper 🙂
 
Yay interview invite yesterday. Scheduled for 8/28.

SOOO excited.

Plane tickets at 300 bucks... waaaah.

Yeah, how would you be able to stay one night? I wanted to book for one night, but realized that if fly in Friday and interview Saturday, I'll have to check-out Saturday morning. So it's looking more and more like two nights now. Aaaaah
 
I called and they said by my interview on Sep 11th they would probably have the student host system running again. If I had to stay in a hotel, it would be one night easy. Stay Friday night, leave carry on luggage on admissions office, leave Saturday night.

I remember seeing in the email that they don't have room to hold our luggage...

ah... you're right. From the email:

"The Office of Medical Admissions is not able to store luggage for our visitors. We ask that you take this into consideration when making your travel plans."

Guess I'll just pack super light and put everything I need into a small roller backpack and just carry it around during the interviews.
 
I was considering the dinner the night after the interview. It says it is optional, but I figured it would be a good idea, and there are zero flights from Omaha to Atlanta Saturday night. I will splurge for a second night in the hotel over sleeping in the airport, haha.
 
Is there a status between "complete" and "interview" like small-pooled or something?

I'm confused. I signed up for a Saturday interview too but the itinerary says optional dinner Friday night. I'm not sure if this is a mistake or if the dinner is before the interview for Saturday interviews...

I don't believe so. On the secondary app page it just says "Complete" in green until they email you with an interview invite. Then, a new "Interview" tab pops up on the page.

My app never even said complete. So kinda hard to know.

Most hotels allow you to leave your luggage behind the desk after checkout for a reasonable amount of time. Can't you just checkout on Saturday morning before your interview, leave a small bag behind the desk, then pick it up on Saturday afternoon before catching your flight? That way you don't have too book two nights 🙂
 
what was the timeframe like between the complete email and interview invite?

Nope...I just got an interview invite too...never received a complete email or anything but the invite was not expected! =)

Yeah I was just looking at plane tickets too...they suck! I think I'll be staying with a med student...any ideas of what you guys are going to do? I would just like to get there early morning day before my interview (9/10) so I don't know exactly when I can go to this med student's place? Or maybe a hotel would just be easier...I'm so confused about where to stay :s
 
I am just booking a hotel for right now and then looking into possibly staying with a med student.

Yeah I called them about this too. And I was told there's only dinner on Friday. I asked if I can attend and she said it might be awkward since I won't know anyone there. But if I was staying with a host then maybe it won't be as awkward...

Meh, I'm not going to fret over it then...

Haha that's kinda funny she said it would be awkward. I guess I won't go to the dinner then.
 
Do you guys think 2000 characters is without spaces or including spaces?

So reading the email and even after looking at the website with the interview information, I can't seem to find any information about staying with a med student...do they even offer it or did I completely just miss it? 😕

That was the link someone posted earlier in the thread. I think another poster called and they said they wouldn't have hosts available until later in September since the students aren't there yet.
 
Complete as of this week and hoping for an interview! Let me just say this is one of the schools I would be pretty disappointed about if I didn't get in...
