just dropping by to say hi!!!! (my desperate attempt at not studying) If anyone has any question and wants another opinion beside sam and moss 😀 PM me if you have any questions and I will try to answer back. Good luck to all

My decisions are law. Don't you forget it.

Hey all, quick show of hands. Who was in the high hold last year and got clipped at the end? I'm excited for round 2!!

I'll chime in here so you don't feel like the only one, cant say i share your excitement, more nervous than last time! lol

My MCAT instructor goes here and he loves it! I really hope FSU shows me some love, esp. since it's not a bad drive.

Can those of you who have received invites share how long after being complete you got the invite?

Thanks!

I have a grammatical error on one of my secondary responses. There is simply an extra word(repeated) in the sentence. Should I be concerned, and call admissions office, and/or send in the fixed copy via mail?

You can call and ask, but I'm not sure a single typo is much to worry about.

Had my interview today and it went AWESOME! (I hope the interviewers see it that way! :xf:). I think I was complete 8/15-17ish? I received an invite about 4 weeks after that.

If a big guy in a sweatshirt said anything, it was me. : P

Ha, thanks medgator. Just keep your chin up. I spoke to someone at the school about a month after rejection and he said re-applicants already have an advantage!

I sure hope so! I was on hold last year when I applied and clipped right at the end. Reapplying this year and I interviewed on 9/20 (regular decision). The interview went great so I'm very anxiously awaiting the 15th!! Anybody else interview regular decision already and waiting on the 15th for a decision?

Good luck! For last cycle, when were you complete and when did you interview? I don't see how you didn't get in with that MCAT/GPA! I'm anxiously hoping I get an interview.

Well thanks! But I applied a little late last year, I think that was my downfall. I was complete 10/30 and interviewed 1/22. I'm hoping that interviewing super early this year won't turn around and bite me in the ass either though. They mentioned in my interview that sometimes they might be more stringent early on so as to leave a good number of spaces for interviewers that come during the bulk of the interviews. Ughhh I can't win!!! lol

Nope, he is c/o 2013. He just started his second year. You might still know him 😉. Anyways, he raved about FSU and I think this would be a great match for me.

That's great to hear! Good luck, you give me hope :xf:

Similar stats, hope I hear something soon, though I was complete over 6 weeks ago (re-applicant too). 🙁 Not sure if I should call and ask if there is anything else I can provide them. They're probably super busy.

Hopefully we can all be "winners" and be accepted to FSU this year (haha okay, that was cheesy!) I'm sure everything will work out 🙂 Do you think they favor alumni?

Don't worry - it's way too early to contact them! I was told they're still finishing up EDP'ers so not to fret. I totally feel your waiting pain, though!

Don't sweat it yet. As I've mentioned before, it was closer to 12 weeks before I even heard anything and then another 2 or 3 weeks before I was even able to interview. If you hear absolutely nothing in the next couple of weeks then you can kind of do a passive check by calling and verifying that everything is in order and you weren't missing something random.

I had one school during my application cycle that never told me they didn't receive something until the end of the cycle and I specifically called them and asked months before. (It wasn't FSU)

Got an interview coming up here this Monday...Any advice/info about the interview process?

Haha - I see what you're secretly doing instead of studying 😛

Be yourself. Smile. Try not to be nervous. Enjoy your time there.

I really couldn't give a better answer than that. The interview forum helped me a lot - gave me a good idea about what questions and things to expect.

Good luck!! Check out the interview feedback section on SDN. Alot of good tips on there!

I was complete 08/19, still under review....wonder why its taking so long??

It just takes a while sometimes. They don't even start looking at regular admissions until they finish EDP. (I don't think) That alone puts you at a bit of a delay. I have NO evidence to back this up but part of me wonders whether they may be slowing it down this year since so many people who were accepted decided to come here. I got the impression that it was a little unexpected and off of their normal percentages. Once again, I have NO evidence to support that.

After you get "Application Under Review by the Office of Admissions" status, are there further status updates on that page to keep an eye out for, or do you just wait for an email?

Keep an eye out for a really nice e-mail 🙂 My status didn't change until the interview was scheduled (and it shows the confirmed date). I think I remember reading posts last year that some people found out about an acceptance via the status page, though (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

I'm guessing it was the more obsessive site checkers. They TRY to send an email acceptance at the same time of the status update, but if anything gets ahead then it is going to be the site since they have someone higher up sign the stuff.

As YOU remember, I got the email and a phonecall at pretty much the same time. I never even checked the website though.

I was one of those super obsessive online status checkers so I actually did find out that I got in before I got the email/phone call. But trust me, it doesn't hit you until you pick up the phone and you get the invitation.

I'd say 230 pm is a good time to start obsessing. I refreshed the screen eh... about every 2-3 minutes.

My status changed at 9:30 in the morning and I didn't get the e-mail until 2 in the afternoon. I never even got a phone call. I was checking my page ALL day to see if they had changed their mind.

My phone call was around 9:30 in the morning, but I suspect it was because I was called off the waitlist a few days before class was starting, so they needed to know urgently.

Just got waitlisted today :/ But I'm not that bummed, because Dr. Patrick said they might do that, pending my grade in this grad class I'm taking. It just sucks I have to waittt morrrre ughhhh

has anyone heard anything yet about acceptances? I interviewed 2-3 weeks ago and it went really well, and they said we would hear back today about something...whether it's an acceptance or waitlist. i haven't heard anything yet 🙁.

nevermind just got my acceptance email!

FSU undergrad, 3.89 cGPA, 29S.

Ready to be a Nole for the rest of my life 🙂

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats. I'd say that I will see you next year, but I probably won't unless I'm still studying for step 1 during your anatomy course.

He said the exact same thing to me when I interviewed. It was right after I got a 48% on a biochem exam. Needless to say, it scared me. Now he is the one grilling us in pharm though. Real nice guy. Tough interviewer but honest.

ACCEPTED!! Called me around 3:30!! 😀😀😀🙂🙂 It also shows you are much more then your MCAT score!

congrats what was your MCAT if you don't mind me asking

Kind of funny/weird for me to see all the fsuid's from 2007. That was when I graduated and did my post-bacc premed coursework at FSU. It doesn't feel that long ago to me. Odd to think that once this year finishes, I'll have spent equal time between PSU and FSU, with more campus time at FSU.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted!! Good luck to all those still waiting. I'll be withdrawing my app from here, but I'll see all of you around the rest of the forum!

Accepted!!!!!! BOOYAH!!!!! I'll look forward to seeing you guys in class next summer!
:soexcited:CLASS OF 2015!!!!:soexcited:

If you're accepted and are positive you are going here, live up the rest of the year. Obviously you still need to pass your classes, but have as much fun as possible before you start up. The time really goes by fast. That spring before starting truly feels like a month ago. The last 2 months of MS2 are a haze to me.

Do you know how many OOS are accepted each year...currently live in FL but I wont be considered a resident until this time next year...

Not really a set number. Not many OOS students come here because it is so expensive. I'd look into the residency for tuition purposes guidelines to make sure you aren't stuck with OOS tuition. It is different by state. Some places make you pay OOS tuition all 4 years even if you become a resident. Others don't let you become a resident unless that is a year without being in school. There are a million ways to twist it. If you can't get instate then it is ridiculously expensive to go here.

What do you mean by passing? Like passing with an A or can I still be matriculate if I make a B here or there?

I have this terrible ongoing nightmare about how if I don't make A's, I'm gonna get a letter saying that I'm gonna have to reapply =/ "Thanks for trying, but better luck next time..."
