hmm that's odd. I thought that they generally do not reject anyone post-interview... that they'd either accept someone or put them in the hold pile... I figured they only rejected those post-interview that had really terrible interviews or ones they clearly felt didn't fit the school...
Also, the fall 2008 med school admission stats were:
IN-STATE - 1616 applied, 358 interviewed, 214 were accepted, 116 enrolled
So I know that it's just based on past posts on here and in SDN, but it seems the general trend is medical schools accept double the number of seats in their program. So for FSU it's 120 seats so 240 acceptances (which seems to match up with the stats). Then, supposedly, half of the class is actually made of waitlist acceptances. This would mean 60 out of the 120 and a lot of people also feel that that's half of the people waitlisted (which makes more sense since they don't accept everyone on the waitlist). If you look at those stats, of the 358 interviewed, 144 were not accepted. That's why I kinda think most people aren't post-interview rejected, cause if a lot are, then accepting 60 out of less than 144 is a really good chance. Now I do know last year less people dropped FSU than anticipated but hopefully they were more careful this year... and I know it's kinda old and it's kinda just a random opinion and there's no way to back it up but it's something small to go on i guess..
Here's a post from earlier in the thread about post-interview rejections:
Though I'm sure some people who just aren't the right fit or have plain terrible interviews ARE rejected.
Here's another post from earlier that stated thoughts about waitlist % getting in:
Though again, FSU had the disaster last year where they did not anticipate so many people falling in love with the school and taking their acceptance. Here's hoping they accounted for that this year and interviewed/accepted/waitlisted less people.
BUT yeah I definitely agree with you guys to approach the whole decision in anticipation of the worst news possible so as to not get your hopes up... but it's very difficult to do that! and even more so when it's your only interview/chance like it is for me... haha
I do think they'll notify us last interviewees tomorrow because they probably want to get those last decisions out as soon as possible to start working on the waitlist. Here's hoping we all get in!!!! LOTS of

to EVERYONE! and hoping the waitlist movement starts really soon!
