...make up? i'm not doing anything of the sort.

Speaking of makeup, how did you do on the cosmetology station?

I completely effed it up and started talking about my horoscope for that day... which Ironically stated that I would experience "barriers of communication"

:laugh:I aced that station. The SDN interview questions section specifically told me to read up on all the ins and outs of cosmetology.

My favorite station was the hippie drum circle. a great way to relieve stress.
Good thing I took an African drumming class last semester

I feel for those of you early birds interviewers.
FWIW I interviewed at a non-rolling school at the end of August and we won't hear back until March 15. I can relate. Waiting is my favorite thing in the world

anyone else getting tired of people asking you if you have heard anything about med schools yet? I keep giving the same canned answer: no news till March

A big +1 to the last statement. My cousins and all my non pre-med are asking me the same thing every time they see/talk to me.

I liked the station where people stopped making up ridiculous station ideas.

Oh and the one with the dragon.

this should all go into the UCLA interview questions thread, cause if they stick to MMI this will prob be the best info for future interviewees. :meanie:

I pulled off a great patronus charm.

Seriously though, I wish UCLA would take the initiative to tell us that they're behind. Not wait for us to ask them if they're ready. Missing their goals twice makes it seem like they have really gone into a tangled mess. Hard trying to convince myself that the admissions office isn't the face of the school.

It can be frustrating to wait, but yeah, the admissions office isn't the face of the school.

However, I give them a lot of credit and I understand their delay. Not only did they totally revamp the interviews themselves, but they also organized the interview day into a more formal schedule with intros/conclusions. They are finally making the attempt to sell the school to us (unlike in the past), and you can see it in the time they spent making their folders/presentations. So I see how it may take some time for them to respond to us with the stress of this new interview format they are taking on. I expect by next year, it will go much more smoothly since everything will be set up.

agreed. good luck to all of us. hang in there!

Question from a guy who got a surprise interview invite here =p

How long is the interview day? I'll be coming in from the east coast and want to figure out when is the earliest realistic flight I'll be able to take out.

Thanks! : )

Depends on what interview group you are in. The earliest one starts at 8am and usually gets out by 2 ish. In any case, I don't think the day goes beyond 5 pm. Correct me if I am wrong.

do admission offivers typically check this site you think?

AMCAS actually has a department that links applicants to SDN usernames. Any schools interested in the information then can pay a subscription or something for the information and go from there. The lengths AMCAS will goto to get revenue...

(see footnote)

congrats, as you can see there are tons of MMI spoilers here, so you should be well prepared

I recently received an interview invite and I am so excited!

Silly question, but when they ask for official transcripts, do they just mean transcripts in support of any coursework taken since AMCAS submission, or do they want your entire undergrad transcript too?

Thanks!

Entire (official) transcript. However, these aren't due until August some time. They don't need your transcripts in order to offer you an acceptance. Only after.

Hope that helps! Congrats on your interview & :xf:.

I wonder when the rest of us will start hearing back about acceptances/holds... They have to have accepted at least enough to fill the entire class by mid-March right?

I feel sorry for all you early interviewees for having to wait forever from UCLA for a decision...... But, as someone who is interviewing there on the 7th, I can't say that I'm all THAT disappointed 😉 I hope this means the later interviewees actually get a legitimate shot at a real acceptance instead of a waitlist!

Regardless, good luck to all :xf:

Dear UCLA Med,

I had the most realistic dream last night that I got in...

Please help me confirm my psychic dreaming abilities

I hope I was also accepted in your prophetic dream.

I am going to break the number keys on my keyboard checking my status page so often to see if a decision letter has been mailed.

gotta get that auto complete rollin son

i know we're not supposed to give details about the MMI, but can someone vaguely tell me any differences between Davis and UCLA? Im not asking for specific details, maybe someone can give me some abstract generalization 😀

Should i be worried that I messed up Davis's MMI and got rejected? I was not too huge of a fan of theirs

It's discussed elsewhere in this thread, which you can find by searching. No one is really going to reveal anything more than has been discussed. Not worth risking the confidentiality agreement they make interviewees sign. Best of luck.

thanks! i didnt realize you could search within a thread. Hearing its pretty different makes me feel better

how friendly are they to OOS applicants (AZ). And what comes after submission of secondary? request for transcripts or interview invite?

It's really hard to say at this point as it's getting rather late in the cycle and it probably depends a lot on when you completed the secondary and your stats, etc. UCLA has completely switched systems though, so anything I say is complete speculation unfortunately. I don't have the MSAR data in front of me, but I know that UCLA is more OOS-friendly than other UC campuses (UCSF excluded). If you're lucky enough to get an interview they will then ask you for your transcript. Don't send it until they invite you though.

Anyone want to bet on when we'll hear from UCLA? 🙂 Any speculations? I got March 15th

Ditto! Or 3/30 (last day by which they should accept enough to fill the class, according to AAMC). UCLA likes to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Request for transcripts is included in interview invite.

Do you know if they have rejected people preinterview? Sorry if this question has been answered, havn't read this entire thread yet and am just ghosting on the lab computer ever break i get. I submitted my seconday 2-25 btw :scared:

I got 5 on a change in online status 2-3 days prior to March 15 (March 12-13). Depending on where you live, letters arrive March 13-March 20. Depending on their decision, you'll be celebrating or whining, the rest of your life. Good luck!😛

Yes they have been rejecting people pre-interview.

Just checked my status and it now says letter has been sent. I hope this means something good! Keeping the fingers crossed..pant:xf::xf::xf:

This might be a very late question, but did people who interviewed early have success finding student hosts? I've emailed all of the coordinators and none has gotten back to me. Should I call the office? Thanks!

I did not have luck finding a student host at UCLA.

At Vandy there were no student hosts available for me and an SDNer stepped up and sent me a PM and offered to host me. Maybe one of the UCLA SDNers will be so kind. It was kinda nice to meet another person who was out on the applicant trail.

guys lol calbear is probably trolling, he/she posted that he/she was accepted via status page like a month ago in this same thread.
