Does anyone know how waitlisted people are notified when they are offered a spot? Phone, email, snail mail..?

I was accepted in december and didn't get a call...so don't give up hope good luck!
I called about a week and a half ago and they said they would be sending out letters, but from talking to current M2's that were accepted off the waitlist, they said they were called in addition to receiving a letter. So potentially a phone call, but for sure a letter in the mail.
Yeah I still can't believe that not a single person accepted off the wait list has posted on here. I saw that the Facebook group has added quite a few people recently (yes, I have been stalking Facebook lately, I have no shame haha). I have no idea if the new people were from the wait list or had been accepted for a while, but I am back in panic mode.
Accepted off alternate list today! 🙂

I got a phone call yesterday morning from Creighton! I was accepted off the wait list!! 🙂 I am so excited!!!!!! Paid my deposit already, but they won't be sending out a letter until Monday. 🙂
In regards to someone's post about updates- I sent in quite a lot. I had seven additional letters of recommendation from professors and doctors. In addition, I wrote a letter of intent... I don't know if that helped at all, but it basically said Creighton was my first choice, and if accepted I would go there. I also had done additional shadowing and community service. I was wait-listed back in October so I spent basically the entire spring semester strengthening my application and doing anything I could think of to get off the wait-list.
My fingers are crossed for all of you though!! Hopefully- more people will be getting phone calls!!!![]()
So is the alternate list done moving?
I really hope not...
I just got the news this morning that I've been accepted to my state school off the waitlist, so I will be withdrawing my spot at Creighton. It's such an incredible school, though, I hope one of you gets my place!
I got in!!! Thanks TheMightySmiter 😀

I rejected all my acceptances. I'm taking a year off to travel and study medicine instead!
Good luck everyone!

For your sake, I hope you are lying or have no intention of ever becoming a doctor....
Follow your dreams. If you want to be a doctor that badly then you will always find a way, regardless of what path you take!It ain't over til it's over.. I'm trying to believe my own words!
😛 Nah I just deferred for the year. I got into another school though, but another opportunity popped up that I just can't pass up!! Creighton alternate-listed me actually, but I haven't heard from them. Shame... it's my top choice 🙁
I figured I'd apply again while I'm away to see if I get in the next year.
Hey all. Does anyone know if Creighton will let students taken from their alternate list defer a year? I am an alternate at three school so have made plans for the year including working on a research project I've started with a doc that I really want to see to completion and a return trip to work in Central America in the spring. If I get in anywhere, it will be impossible to say no, but I'm exploring this option at each school. If I did say no, would it hurt my chances as a reapplicant? I wouldn't want to ask Creighton directly incase they choose not to take me if they have a spot open up because I really, really want to go here for medical school! Thank for any advice!
Hey guys, I just wanted to give some encouragement to those still wait listed. In the past few years there have been people getting in way late into the summer, so don't give up yet!
But in the off chance you don't get in, a year off can be a blessing in disguise. I had a year to relax, volunteer, and live a little before life gets too serious. Just remember it's not a race to the finish, enjoy the trip!
Appreciate the encouragement! The lack of concrete info has been really frustrating and I'm proceeding like the waitlist isn't going to workout for me. I have a pretty good idea of what the committee wants me to fix, so I've just been moving forward with my Plan B. Submitting my next app very soon, too. It's a little later than I'd like, but I also have everything (letters, etc.) in place, so secondaries should proceed quickly and smoothly.
A couple of questions to y'all... what's your Plan B? Also, does anyone know the odds of getting in after having been waitlisted?
I've got about the same plan. At this point I've accepted that I won't get off the waitlist, and am pretty good-spirited about it. I am excited to have another chance to be a really successful applicant (multiple acceptances, even!) and spend a year saving money and volunteering. I'm currently studying for an mcat retake, and my app is almost complete (I'm getting letters resent right now, waiting for transcripts to arrive at amcas).
Good luck with the MCAT!
I'm adding more post-bacc coursework... I'm "lucky" in the sense that I wasn't a biology major, so I do have small gaps in my education that I can fill with post-bacc coursework and not do an SMP. Just paid for school, though, and damn... school is a lot more expensive nowadays.
Saving money is a goal for me, too. Applying/testing/classes have sucked up a lot of my disposable income, so an extra year is definitely a blessing in disguise.
I volunteer a ton, but am thinking of switching it up a bit. I've always wanted to join a hospice program with my therapy pup, so perhaps now's the time to work on that. More shadowing won't hurt, too, and working part-time (I'm transitioning from full to part-time next month) means I'd have more time to shadow.
Here's to us getting late acceptances this year or direct ones next year!
Yeah, I'm very very broke right now. Applying was so expensive, and I only applied to like 11 schools.
Therapy pup!? That sounds awesome!
I wish I could meet you and the therapy pup while in action in the hospice!

He is! I have an Australian Shepherd and we go on rounds at the hospital. The wins include being able to go into almost every part of the hospital and meeting a ton of patients and staff. He loves it and it's a great outlet for him. The downside is that he's 13, so as much as he loves the attention, walking around the hospital is hard for him.
I think we've met, actually. I remember you from the interview!
