So, I called admissions just now. She told me that there was a wave on Friday, and somehow some people just didn't get that wave email because there are a lot of people on the list, and we may have been missed.. Not sure why.

Thank you, I have been trying to call and couldnt get through...(although that does seem strange that the size of an email list would affect anything) So I guess that means one more late Feb then Mar 15th?

does anyone know the latest interview date that was considered/accepted in Friday's batch?

+1. Yeah...it would be really helpful if those who are accepted could also mention the dates they interviewed. 🙂 I interviewed on Jan 6th and haven't received 'still in consideration' email (possibly a system glitch?). Much appreciated and congrats to y'all! 👍

Anyone get that email about them changing the interview schedule for this weekend??

I got accepted on last Friday and interviewed on Jan 21st

For any accepted students or current medical students. I feel like the formal written acceptance of appointment is a little vague. What did you write and what do you think they want?

Is it as simple as writing admissions a short letter saying you accept the appointment or is there some sort of form to follow that I am not seeing?

Thanks. Congrats to all those who have been accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear!

I had the same questions, but a few Google searches later and I settled on a simple acknowledgement of the code and acceptance of the acceptance. Pm me if you want and I'll send you what I sent

I don't think have changed it from previous years. I wrote a simple letter. Basically all you need is to say you are accepting their offer of admissions for the upcoming year. You can add a nice salutation or anything you want, but that statement should do it. Congrats!

Thanks for the interview date/acceptance updates. I interviewed mid-Jan so it's a little discouraging to get passed up this time around but I guess there are still a few more chances left for those of us still waiting! Good luck

Don't worry - I interviewed in October and got in the January round !

So where do we find info on hotels, traveling info, campus maps etc.? I don't see anything and I was only sent a brief schedule by Admissions on my interview date. This is pretty disorganized...

Thanks for the encouragement, Crazyazy! I'm hoping for the best :xf:

Is anyone interviewing Friday Feb 17th? I am OOS and would ideally like to split the cost of a hotel room. I will be there from the 15th to 18th.

Just got that "we're still considering you" wave email. I called just to make sure and she said it was for Friday's acceptances. Anyone else get the email today? Still think it's kinda weird..hopefully it doesn't mean anything!

Does this necessarily mean you were actually considered for the Friday acceptance? Say you interviewed a week ago, and they haven't looked at your file post-interview..are you still sent this wave e-mail anyway?

Still haven't gotten that email either. So i think you're in a better place then those of us who haven't received any email regarding the Friday wave.

I'm in the PM session. I am not sure about the itinerary info or if that will be given to us the day of? Are you in the PM session?

I'm interviewing on Sat too. AM session. They sent me the itinerary yesterday.

I got that too. It said there are still at least two more acceptance dates and the waitlist.

Got accepted last Friday and interviewed in early October.

Does anyone know about how many people they have accepted so far after 4 rounds?

Random question for those who currently attend U of A Tuscon.
Do any of the medical students interact with the other health students i.e nursing, pharmacy, public health?. Its a good thing to know if you are attending graduate school newly single to come in contact with other health professionals while in school. 🙂

so in the "still being considered" email they say there is still time for them to put you on the wait list or even get accepted and they don't send out rejections until march... does this mean that they haven't sent ANY rejections yet?

I went to nursing school at Uof A, and I can tell you that when I was there we had "Interprofessional Seminars" that included medical, nursing, pharm, public health in groups learning/interdisciplinary respect exercises. However, I came into contact with medical student MUCH more frequently just in random non-academic encounters in the hospital, UMC cafeteria, around campus, playing intermural sports, and out on the weekends. All of the health profession schools are right there crammed together and UMC is a big teaching hospital, so there is bound to be some unofficial mingling. That being said, as one of 10 guys in a class of 95, most of my friends were girls and I got a front row seat to their dating lives. As a general rule, they were not interested in dating medical school students (many of them stated things like how little time they would have for them, debt, etc.), but I would have to have another set of hands to count the number of random interns and residents that they ended up dating.

Also I have my own question....is there a benefit to attending the second look weekend if you know for sure you are going to the school? I mean UofA was my first choice and after I got accepted I cancelled my other few interviews, so I don't really need any convincing to go here.

I interviewed in October and was accepted last Friday. I had pretty much given up hope on Tucson. Although I'm really happy to have this acceptance, I am going to attend the COM-Phoenix.

Congrats!! Could you maybe talk about why you're choosing Phoenix over Tucson?? Either here or in the Phoenix vs. Tucson thread? I've been accepted to Phoenix, but not to Tucson, and I am seriously considering Phoenix over some other schools.

To find roommates?

I found second look to be rewarding. You get a taste for the school on a new level, get the opportunity to meet potential new classmates, and get to meet the future 2nd and 3rd years.

I think it is a good thing to go to if you can make it easily. You can meet future classmates and students from classes ahead of you. I agree it might be a good time to find a roommate if you find people you click with. That being said, if you have other obligations, it isn't financially feasible if you are OOS, etc., I don't think it is necessary if you know you want to attend. I think it might be more important if you are on the fence. Personally, I didn't attend because of other commitments, but would have otherwise. Missing it certainly didn't negatively impact anything.

In state or OOS. Just curious I interviewed Jan 21st and got still being considered email....

How many 'still being considering' emails were sent to you?

Was accepted on 2/3, Interviewed way back in mid November. Keep your heads up!!👍👍👍

Any thoughts on when the next batch of acceptances is coming out?!

Did anyone who got accepted receive an acceptance packet in the mail?

No, unfortunately they just send you a hardcopy of the acceptance e-mail that you received... kind of anti-climactic, but regardless... its an acceptance!!! Congratulations!!!

Does anyone know if invites are still going out?
