anybody know about how long it takes to get the fin. aid package?

I was accepted last month, but won't complete my prerequisites till June 11. Not sure how I failed to see the January 1 deadline on their prerequisites page, considering how many times I visited it. :smack:

EDIT: Forgot to add: I did state on my secondary that I was going to complete some of my prerequisites over Spring 2012 quarter. Also, when you accept Davis's offer, you're taken to a page that says you should have completed your prerequisites by June 1, so I had to request an extension.

Cool thanks. So the prerequisites need to be completed by June 1st and not January if I read that correctly?

Since they suggest January, they would probably rather that you complete the prerequisites by then, but I guess it doesn't seem to be an outright requirement.

About a week after I mailed in my financial aid forms, I called my assigned financial aid officer to confirm that she'd received them. She said she'd try to complete my financial aid package by the end of the week (I'd called on Monday or Tuesday) - then she gave me my financial aid package later that same afternoon. They're really on the ball and are so helpful!

Well yeah I'd love to be done by January. But since they require Biochem, it's only offered in the winter quarter at my school, which starts in January 🙁. I'll email them before I apply to make sure they don't change their minds lol

Can someone link to the class Facebook page 🙂?

I was accepted yesterday off the waitlist! So unbelievably excited and happy! I interviewed 1/13. Best of luck to those still waiting!!!

*sigh* Giving up hope... Been waitlisted since December and doesn't look like there's going to be much movement, if any at all, at this point.

I'm with you. Interviewed early March and no word at all. I guess I'm on the ghost list.

Well, there were a great deal of waitlist movement earlier around the time of May 15th and the 2 weeks after. However I called Joanna last Friday and she mentioned that the admin committee haven't gotten together in the 2 weeks since. I took that as they had a firm number of commitments for the incoming class. Unless something extraordinary happens, the chances of a seat opening up is slim at this point. It's just unfortunate they won't divulge ranking so we can better project our chances if one or two seats did open up at this stage.

She did mentioned in years past, they've accepted students as late as the day before orientation. Obviously no correlation between the events then and now, but take it for what it's worth. :xf::xf::xf:

At this point I haven't received any notice whatsoever (waitlist, accepted, rejected) and I've already been accepted to an out of state school. I'm kinda just hoping Davis will say something. Do you think it's a lost cause at this point and I should just go out of state?

Hi all-

I just withdrew my acceptance from Davis, hopefully it goes to one of you who really wants it!

All we know at this point is mere speculation while you got a sure ticket. I say pay the deposit and expect to go out of state while holding on hope to hear from Davis.

Best case scenario, you get accepted at Davis and you're out a few hundred bucks on the deposit.

Worst case, you start med school in the fall anyway.. Regardless, you've gotten this far on your own, you'll make the right decision.👍

Word.

I got the UC Davis secondary and I found that they will not offer admissions to anyone who has not completed all the prerequisites. I still need physics lab II. I thought the general wisdom was that it was okay to leave one or two prereqs undone as long as you took the courses before matriculating. So does Davis really not consider you unless you have completed ALL your prereqs?
