Is this a Hold, or what. I wonder if anyone last year got interviews after this message?

We didn't have these messages last year... So who knows what they mean :shrug:.

Had that message on my status for 3-4 weeks before being offered an interview. Also, just so you know, it appears they haven't been filling up many days with applicants. I received my invite two weeks ago and they still have all the same days available as of today (my friend got an invite today and the open days hadn't changed).

I have been under review since July 21. This is taking really long.
 
Are there separate interview dates for PRIME? PRIME-LC sounds so sick (no pun intended)!

Yes from what admissions told me the next interview date *for PRIME-LC is october 3rd and the one after that is not until November 14.

*as of 8/14 at least, not sure about sept if they had those dates filled up by then...

I'm also curious about this. It's been so quiet for me on all fronts since being complete a few weeks ago.
 
After about 2 weeks of waiting I decided to call admissions office about why my file is incomplete although everything looks to be there. They said that since I am a permanent resident I have to mail them a copy per the instruction. Stupid me😡.

Applicants who are Permanent Residents must submit a copy of their Green Card in order for their application to be considered complete. Mail a copy to the above address.

My question is why not have us email them than through snail mail. Safety concerns?
And why is UC Irvine the only school I've known so far to do stuff like this?

I emailed mine and got marked complete right after.

Don't worry. Your file could be with someone who works slower or is very busy right now. The admissions committee takes care of these type of things. Just sit back and relax.
 
Just got the "Your initial review is complete..." status in red at the bottom of the page when I checked today... Hmm

ETA: Application Complete on 7/22

You could get a hundred rejections, but you only need one acceptance! I know it sounds cliche, but its the truth. With those stats your bound to hear some positive news soon.
 
My first interview invite! Huge relief. 🙂

Secondary complete: 7/20/11
Review complete/on-hold: 9/4/11
Interview Invite: 9/5/11

Edit: notified via status update, no email. The interview invite says we have two weeks to schedule from the time we are awarded the invite, so make sure to check this status page if you haven't been.

Yeah, but it seems to be a higher-priority hold than the "Initial review is complete" status. See Doanqn63 on the previous page! 🙂

I have to disagree with you on that one because few who had initial review received invites.

What are the chances for us alternates for an invite? 😳

ahh irvine why the lag in response. i'm still under review.
 
I got an interview invite yesterday afternoon. Complete 7/18; invite 9/11. Only dates available to me are the first two Mondays of November.
 
Is it a bad sign that I've been waiting for my secondary invite for nearly a month now?

Anyone else having trouble logging into the app status website? I keep getting an error message that I have entered something incorrectly . . . I've checked and re-checked everyone, so I am not sure what is going on . . .

Irvine is my absolute top choice, especially because I thought I had a realistic shot here. I just read through this entire thread and saw too many pre-interview rejections for IS'ers with good stats. Now I'm thinking it's not too realistic.

Anyway, :luck: to those who have interviews next week, and everyone keep updating! Irvine is the one school I'm allowing myself to be completely and hopelessly neurotic about. 😍 😍
 
*Finally* just submitted my secondary. I added this school kinda late, but still finished the secondary before the one month limit... I'm OOS, so I'd be so humbled if they give me an interview.:xf:
 
Also got the "initial review" status. This "initial review" vs. "alternate" quandary is EXACTLY the same as VCUs "maybe" vs. "further" debate! :laugh:

Oh, the ambiguity.
