I'm not even the applicant -- it's my kid waiting for the e-mail, but this counting down to the exact moment of truth is killing me. Would much rather get a more randomly timed notification. I feel for all you early interviewees who are waiting,:xf: and I hope you ALL get in, whether tonight or from the hold list.

Where are all the acceptances??? I was expecting more happiness right now...

No email either. No news is bad news as they say. O well, life goes on as they say...Congrats to those who got accepted!!

Nothing in spam. My understanding was that only acceptances go tonite. Waitlist and deferred go out on Monday. But, why isnt anyone posting acceptance here?

I'm starting to think...maybe there was a glitch in the system and none of the acceptances went out??

Congratulations from the current M1 class to everyone hearing today!

Only east coast went out so far. Since it's a friday, I'm sure many people are out. I'm in the same boat as you. It sucks, but our day will come soon.

I am begining to think that people with acceptances are celebrating and not thinking about SDN right now.

Yep haha. Guess it's just me and you right now on the thread sulking in our non acceptance

Yeah, I am way surprised at the silence: Nothing on SDN, Nothing on Mdapplicants, Nothing on UMich Twitter, and Nothing on UMich online ticker.

Absolute Craziness!

accepted...west coaster.

spent the last 3 hours thinking i didn't get in. guess they batched it by time zone. was bit of a buzz kill but wow what a relief now.

😀 😀 😀
Hooray!

To all of those who didn't get a U of M acceptance tonight, remember what Dean Gay said at the interview day...

97% of People who interview at Michigan get an acceptance somewhere. Good luck with the rest of the cycle and I'm sure you'll be accepted somewhere that is a great fit for you.

:luck::luck:

I'M IN!!! and yes, i thought it would come at 9p too

Congrats west coast! I guess east coast batch (70% of acceptances) was silent on SDN.

Accepted! I'm so happy right now. Michigan was one of my top choices before I interviewed and post interview it shot up to number one. I feel so grateful right now.

OMG OMG OMG OMG - Still no interview. All you accepted people stole my spots...

JK, congratz!

If you were accepted, how did you find out?
Last year was a video.
Could you post link if you got a video? thanks.

Accepted!!! 😀😀😀

Wow that was a night I will remember forever... Just woke up now. GO BLUE! I loved Michigan!

They updated application status. It says Highly Desirable - December decision. What does that mean? Is that standard deferral? Does anyone know how many people moved from this category to accepted last year.

I don't think it's a standard deferral, not everyone get's highly desirable if I recall correctly (not sure). If you look at last year's thread I think they took a decent amount of the highly desirable deferred applicants.

As for the update letter, if you have meaningful updates it might help. I know they stated explicitly on the twitter that letters of intent/interest play no role in their decisions and they'd rather not receive them.

Yep. I too remember reading the comment on update letters.

I too wanted to check out last year's thread, but it is gone and cant find anymore. I also heard that many December decisions will eventually become February decisions. Michigan is my strong #1 and there is no close second. 🙂

From last year's thread:
Defer decision data: We have 65 (41 non-res/24 residents) we are considering for 12 admission offers (7 NR and 5 residents) on Dec. 22

Keep in mind though every cycle is independent and they could take a lot more or a lot less this year.

Possibly a silly question, but is it bad that my status hasn't been updated? It still says, "AMCAS application received" with check marks next to all of the requirements on the bottom of the page (these appeared 04/OCT). How long did it take for everyone's status to change from this one?

Oh and CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS to those of you who received acceptances🙂

My status changed to "File Complete - Under review" about a day and a half after I submitted it in August. I'm not sure where they are in processing things, but it seems like it has been a long time for your application!
