I have heard from multiple admissions people at multiple school interviews that what they do is rank you on a list with all the other applicants from every interview. This ranking happens the day after your interview (A&M, both Techs), the day of your interview (Baylor), or 5 days after your interview (SW). Although I am not sure about San Antonio specifically, if you are interviewing a week before 11/15 then I would guess that you are in the same position as everyone else who interviewed earlier.

Thanks so much for the responses. This gives me hope and something to look forward to (hopefully) in 15 days or so. Hopefully I do well and get an offer. Would like to end the year knowing if I'm moving on to the next step in the pursuit of my goal of medicine!!
 
Well, going to assume a silent rejection from here. It's a shame ... at the start of this cycle, they were at the top of my list.
 
For those of you who have interviewed, do u happen to know any hotels in their medical center with shuttle service? I've been calling around and haven't found any. Did yall have to take a taxi to interview and social night?

the motel 6 right by the school has a shuttle service to the medical center and back. you could probably walk too its a 5-10 min walk
 
Why not stay with a student?
 
I have a question. I received an interview to UTSA on Nov. 7...Monday. I applied a while back to stay with a student host and received confirmation. Its been a couple of weeks and I have yet to hear from the student I am suppose to be staying with. I contacted the housing people but with less than a week, I need to know my staying arrangements. Does anyone have a number or any other info on the people who is in charge of the student host program?
 
Anyone know roughly how many pre matches UTSA sends out? Is it very few like UTH?

I've stayed with a student at all of my Texas interviews (3), and I've slept on beds at all of them! I guess you wouldn't know for sure though.

nothing wrong with sleeping on a couch. done it many times on the interview trail. plus, you might be lucky and get a bed or airbed

Hey-- I PMed you as I'm on the housing committee, although not in charge of this week. (There are several MS1s and MS2s, so we split each week up.) A friend who is also on SDN let me know when she saw your message.

But for anyone else, if you feel like you're getting short on time (<a week) and no one has contacted you-- our individual, school emails (housing committee) are on the bottom of the student housing letter/email that you guys. I believe... at least my copy has it.

Anyway, good luck with applications! Hope to see some of you guys at tomorrow's interview day! 🙂 Or come out tonight for the social! I'm not going, but it's still a great way (if you're 21+) to relax a bit and get to know your future colleagues!
 
Is anybody running the SA marathon before the interview on Monday? I was already registered for the run and then I got invited to interview date the day after. Its funny how things just fall into place every once in a while.

Hopefully you won't be too exhausted for your interview!
 
Kind weird UTSA story: I sent them an update letter via email last Friday. I received a reply on Monday that said "the committee has recommended you for an interview, but not sure when." I called up the admissions office, and after some looking around, they told me that they would email me if I received an interview invitation.

No invite yet... perhaps I'm a "backup" if somebody cancels or something.

I also wonder if this means that more people are "recommended" for interviews, than are actually invited? I wonder how they narrow it down from "recommended" to "invited"...

That seems really strange that they emailed you saying that. If I was a member of an ADCOM I'd keep that kind of stuff close to the vest and only email out if I was FOR SURE inviting you. This kinda stuff just makes premeds more neurotic! But anyway congrats on getting at least some response from the update letter! It looks like mines didn't work...

That is quite strange, but at least you got a somewhat positive response? haha. After I sent my update letter, I just received an email saying that it's been added to my file, nothing more. I've kind of lost hope on getting an interview invite from here...

The impression that I've gotten is that they essentially compile a list of "interviewable" applicants, and then pick a few individuals off that list for every interview session.
 
Hey everyone,

For those of you who have interviewed, good luck Tuesday. I'm not sure how it works, but I'm fairly certain that pre-match offers will begin rolling out on Tuesday, 11/15.

Does anyone have any idea when any (more?) OOS acceptances will be sent out? I think I saw one person post that they were accepted, but it has seemed reasonably quiet.
 
Wow, the Texas boards seem hauntingly quiet the day before pre-matches go out.

I received my OOS acceptance on 11/09 and interviewed on 09/26. I don't know how much that helps but the time it took seemed reasonable.
 
Good luck tomorrow, guys!! I'm a first year student here and we're currently consumed in exam week until Wednesday... kinda sucks. But let me know if you have any questions! I'm pretty sure UTHSCSA is one of those schools that sends a large percentage of their acceptances out through pre-matches so hopefully there will be a lot of y'all with awesome news tomorrow! And an early Christmas present, of course 🙂
 
Got an interview for Dec 5! Submitted 5/31. I know pre-match is tomorrow, but just in case there are other anxious folks out there.

Just to calm any anxious folks out there... I interviewed here in mid December last year and still pre-matched. All is not lost if you don't hear anything today!

Yeah I know. She said that they sent all of the ones for today out and that they would be sending more later (but not today later).

Sound like there won't be many announcements until December (assuming they stick to last year's schedule).
