Rejected post interview. Interviewed February 25th. A little surprised because my interviewer was touting my credentials for the whole interview. Wasn't enthralled with the school though so I guess this is for the best. I hope someone who really loves it on this thread gets it since I didn't!

Sorry guys, I'm sure this has been asked already but I just don't feel like scrolling through pages and pages.. I interviewed 2/25 and received high priority status. What does this mean...?

Decisions after like a week? I like
Seems like only rejections/WL tho

HP wait list, interviewed 1/11...what are the chances of getting a spot?

HP wait list, interviewed mid December. Anyone know what the chances are for an acceptance?

High priority as well. Did anyone not get high priority? Doesn't seem very high priority if that's just what everyone has...

Rejected today post-interview on 2/6. Bummer, was really hoping to get a chance here.

Very confused... a lot of people are reporting being on HP waitlist now. However when the first round of decisions came out in January not a single person said they got on the HP list. How is that possible? Seems unlikely that no one who interviewed within the first three months got on HP.

Does anyone go from normal priority waitlist to High priority waitlist?

Anyone interview during that time period and not hear anything yet?

does anyone have an estimate for the likeliness of being accepted off of the high priority wait list?

question for a current student:

I really liked Einstein when I visited. One of the things I noticed was the party atmosphere among the students at Einstein. there is definately nothing wrong with that. However, I am the kind of person that enjoys the parties occasionally, but often likes to hang out in smaller groups and in less crowded settings. I also don't drink because of cultural/religious reasons. Do you think I can find a niche at Einstein?

I, along with many others, are definitely going out a lot more in medical school than I did in college. I drank less than 10 times in undergrad. Here, I mainly go out to meet new people and dance. Now, I am starting to enjoy going out a lot more because I really enjoy hanging out with my class. At the same time, I only have a couple drinks a night and always know what I am doing. Our class is very cohesive in that when we plan to go out, we go out as a group. However, not everyone does come out with us and not all the same people go out each time (although there are some regulars). A student in our class goes out and hang with us but do not drink because of religious reason and he always seem to have a great time. I also have plenty of friends that do not drink because prefer not to and still go out with us. There are also people in our class that prefers video games or having a game night. We would also have a movie night or even go to the city just for food and other random things. I think we have a good balance of both. What I love the most about Einstein is that the people here are amazing. I can assured you that you will find your niche at Einstein. Einstein is a phenomenal place and I love it here, along with the many students on this forum.

Dear current students:

Are there any music interest/dance clubs?!

Also, going to the event this Thursday?! 😀

hmmm... not too sure since I am neither talented at both but I have friends who are amazing musicians and dancers who are performing at Einstein Skit Night (YouTube It)! There are many talented people here and I am sure you can create a group if you want. A group of students here actually have a jam session once a while: some sing, some play the guitar, and some play other instruments. If you are interested to create one, I am pretty sure there are students that are willing to join!

Yep there are. There is an Einstein Dance Club that has classes/events pretty often http://www.einsteindance.com/ , the Einstein Orchestra (which has performances a couple of times a year and also plays at some of the big school events), the Einstein Jazz Band, and the Lymph Notes a cappella group. Here's a list of the current clubs/groups at Einstein, in case I missed any music-related ones: http://einstein.yu.edu/students/clubs/

YESSS! You just made my night <3

(Recently read a blog that said I'm going to lose all friends/hobbies/etc. in medical school >> freaked out)

Lol don't believe everything blogs say!

I definitely won't disagree that it's rlly hard at times to keep up with friends from home, but you just need to set aside time for that

And the same goes for hobbies - there are definitely times when there is very little free time (like an exam week) but plenty of people make sure to set aside personal time for things they want to do (like the gym) - it helps keep you sane 🙂 haha

So don't stress about it - it's not as bad as the bloggers would make you believe ;p

I mean, the bloggers have clearly somehow found the time to blog about how they don't have any free time...

Ya where did this HP come from all of the sudden?

Last year, Einstein sent out II on March 8th. I hope to hear back from them soon. :luck: Good luck, everyone!

So do these rejections mean no more invites?

Does Einstein have any admitted students events besides the alumni event this week? I can't make it, but I definitely want to take a closer look and get to know current/former students better.

No official second looks, but if you contact admissions, they'd be able to set you up with a host so you can follow some students around for a day!

so they have started to send out pre-interview rejections? are they via email or snail mail? thanks.

anyone care to elaborate/shed insight on this? are all the early interviewees screwed? :scared:

So i was doing a bit of digging on old threads and found this:

user: jchenunit
Interview: 02/02/2011
Waitlist: 03/26/2011
High Priority Waitlist: 06/01/2011
Accepted: 06/13/2011

user: class2015
Interviewed: February
Waitlisted: April
High Priority: May 15th
Acceptance: July 15th

"
After sending an initial round of acceptances on January 15th, acceptances are offered on a rolling admission basis.
Approximately 400 applicants will be placed on the wait-list from January through the summer months. Beginning in May, the wait-list is re-evaluated and halved. By July, about 50 applicants remain active on the wait-list and by the day of Orientation, approximately 20 remain active. The wait-list is not ranked.
Applicants who have decided that Einstein is their first choice school are encouraged to communicate their intentions with us in writing and, in August, by telephone.
Applicants should be certain that the Office of Admissions can communicate with them after they have left school or are traveling during the summer months. All address changes, telephone number changes and email changes should be reported in case of a late acceptance. Applicants should have a family member or friend designated to receive communications and make decisions in case the applicant is unreachable"

Is HP waitlist essentially an acceptance but really late? Are there people on HP waitlist that don't get an acceptance offer?

it's a wait list like any other: acceptances are made as spots become available. there were a couple of posts on last year's thread by people who claimed to be high priority but were never accepted. Last year, it seems that movement began 5/16 and continued to late July. Here's hoping to be one of the fortunate HP'ers!

Anyone know the attire for ThursdAy nights event?

I haven't been accepted but I plan on showing up just to make a good impression, put a face to my app and show extra genuine interest.
