Hey,

Can anyone tell me how late the interview day goes? A friend of mine asked if I could help out with an art show she's helping run in Philly on my interview day. I said I'd check when the interview day would be over and then show up when I could. I can't find any mention on the website of when the day is over though. The event is going on til 7, so I'm assuming the day will be over by then, but it'd be nice to know a ballpark figure.

Between 1 and 2pm

Hey guys,

I have some good info for those of you following cooper as closely as I am (and I imagine those who mine this thread next year for information nuggets). I can confirm there is a difference between the priority waitlist and regular waitlist, and that it does exist this year (I know it was mentioned, but not confirmed really). I received a status update email notifying me that after committee review, I've been transferred from the WL to the priority WL. It also states (as opposed to our first wave of WL emails) that they do intend to dive into the WL this year beginning in spring. So that is a bit more hope to grab onto in terms of if they really are going to be pulling from the WL this year. I know it isn't really any crazy info, but it's something--and those of you as anxious as I am, we'll take anything 😉

Fingers crossed. I know those of you who interviewed probably fell in love with this place as much as I did. Cooper had such a different feel. They truly were there for their mission, it wasn't the afterthought.

Anyhow, thought you all might like to know 🙂

Good to know. At this point I just want to get into any school, so I'll take any positive news I can get. I sent them an update letter after my initial decision (November?), but I guess it's time to send them another.

i interviewed today, which they announced was the very last interview day. also heard that they would be making decisions on wednesday next week, and we could expect to hear back on thursday!

we should be hearing back TODAY. I haven't gotten the email yet though. anyone else?

it seems like they admit people the day they mention during your interview, but it takes them longer to communicate waitlist statuses

just got the dreaded waitlist email.... my 3rd waitlist so far this year.....🙁

Me too. I guess it's the high priority waitlist since it says "you have been accepted contingent on the decisions made by those granted a full accept decision".

This is wait list #5 for me (no acceptances yet).

Yeah. I wish I could help you guys figure out which waitlist it is. I never got the original email for priority WL, since I was sent an email updating my status. Though neither of my emails seem to use that exact terminology. It does however specifically state waitlist and priority WL in each email in the first sentence. That doesn't mean however that the emails couldn't have changed.

my email also mentioned ""you have been accepted contingent on the decisions made by those granted a full accept decision", but it just said waitlist, not priority waitlist.

I sure hope they changed/edited the email, since the hp one I received a while ago had language in it for their "inaugural class". Did not make a good impression.

Darn. Probably is the regular waitlist then. Has anyone else here gotten a different email this year?

Interviewed in December. Priority wait listed in January. This email does use misplaced language about the inaugural class, but at least the class size was increased from 50 to 60 in the letter.

You have been put on the priority wait list of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Most established schools accept between two and three times the class size to fill each class. They can do this because they have years of experience that have led them to know the number of students who elect to attend another school. As a new school, we do not have that opportunity and we cannot have more than 60 students in our first class. This limits our opportunity to extend a full admit status.

Our Admissions Committee has chosen to have you in a select small number of applicants that will be the first to be offered a position as seats open. Cooper Medical School of Rowan University knows that you resonate with our mission and will thrive in our curriculum. Your academic accomplishments speak for themselves. Your overall application including the personal statement, the secondary application, and the letters of recommendation made it easy to offer you an interview because of the path you chose in these past few years. Interview day allowed us to meet you, to see you at the bedside via the standardized patient encounters and to get to know you through the eyes of our faculty.

In the weeks and months that follow we will keep in touch and update you on your status. We will go through the interview cycle in such a way that at every meeting there is an opportunity to become a member of our inaugural class. That means that it will likely be in late March that we will begin pulling from the wait list. Should you accept a seat in another school and wish to be removed from our wait list we would appreciate notification. Even if accepted elsewhere we would be happy to keep you on our priority list and give you that option should it arise.

We would be proud to eventually offer you the option of being part of this school that will live by its mission as we change our community.

Hey guys,

Im consider applying here for the 2013-2014 cycle. I know its a new school, but can anyone offer up honestly what the area is like. Camden ive heard is a bit dull and impoverishment. NOT to put down the city or the school. Ive just heard by others its not the best area to live. Im from the west coast, if anyone can provide insight about what the community, campus environment is like it would be much appreciated! thanks!

Anyone withdraw their acceptance recently?????

Not sure, but I hope you get their spot when someone does : )

Does anyone remember if the exams are blocked together or staggered at Cooper? If they are blocked, how many exams do you end up taking in a 1-2 day period? Does Cooper have a simulation lab?

Thanks Quechua ! I was if the impression that the exams were blocked . But they are organized in a way that the topics coincide with each other.

Hey guys, Anyone hear anything yet?? Anywaitlist movement this year??? Congrats to those accepted and Good luck to those still waiting.

Haven't heard a peep from them since being wait listed. Does anyone know if they accept updates?

Does anyone know just how many names are on the "priority wait list"? Has Dr. Dayton or the admissions staff ever stated a number?

Has anyone asked lately if there has been any movement on the wait list? Or is the school waiting until after May 1st and/or 15th to start again moving names off the various wait list?
