Has anyone been rejected by USUHS this cycle? Sorry, I am really not trying to pour salt in any wounds. I am just trying to figure out the system. Do they fill all the slots and THEN start rejecting people?
Just curious. Still not even a whisper from them, so I'm a bit anxious and just trying not to be. 😉

I'm in the same boat. Hoping to hear (positive) news sometime soon, but we'll see. It would be rough if they accepted everyone and then rejected, but I have no clue.

Got my wait list letter in the mail. Interviewed 9/27. Is there any movement before march?

Also in the same boat; interviewed 10/04

from what I can tell from last years thread there are no outright rejections -- you are either accepted or on the waitlist. And the waitlist seems to be variable in how much it moves. There was one guy last year who interviewed early november, got waitlisted and then accepted in may -- 240 day wait; bit of an extreme case but just wanted to put that out there.

from what people posted on this thread the longest wait time from interview to acceptance was 52 days for someone who interviewed on 09/27.

For those of you accepted, how do you expect to try to find a roommate? Is there a Facebook page for accepted students? If there is, I'm having trouble finding it.

There is a facebook page usually each year from what Dr. Saguil was saying, but most people wait until after the summer training and after they make some friends around the campus. Especially since the school I believe recommends you don't actually put down a lease payment or anything until closer to the start date of the school year.

Of the housing arrangements discussed when I was at interview: 2 of the students were married and living with their spouses, the other had her own apartment for the first year, but is sharing a house now with three friends. The overwhelming message I got was, your BAH will more than cover single living expenses. But there are bulletins and stuff to find room-mates.

Just received an email saying they had all my secondary info and were in the process of looking through it. But I sent my secondary in late August...

Did they really not bother to even look at it until now, three months later? What's going on?!

They may have been waiting for your letters of rec to get in, if it took time for your university to send it or specific letter writers that could be the reason. Either that or they were waiting on final verification from AMCAS on your primary, since they'll send you a secondary before you get verified.

Like SDSU EB said, someone will start a facebook page eventually. If it hasn't been posted in this thread then there probably isn't one yet. People from the class ahead may also join your facebook page. There will be people looking for roommates there. I found my roommates via the class facebook page, but I didn't go to the officer training over the summer either. Other folks waited until meeting people at officer training. Don't feel like too much in a rush to find a roommate. Also, a bunch of people have one bedroom apartments that are within walking distance of school or right next to a metro stop.

So i just looked at all the information that was included in the invitation and they seem to want Fall Grades. Do you guys know how big of a role this plays in admissions. I'm not getting any C's or anything but I'm just curious

If they're available, just send them in. I don't think it would be *that* big of a deal. But it might be a differentiating factor if it's a close call between an acceptance or a waitlist after you're interview.

Has anyone with Sept/Oct interviews heard back yet in terms of acceptance or waitlist? I'm running out of things to keep my mind off the waiting [interviewed on 10/04].

Yeah at least 4 people posted about their acceptances, including myself. I interviewed 9/22.
I also have a class mate who interviewed in October who got accepted.

Good luck dude! I know how much the waiting sucks :/

Just got the acceptance phone call! November 1st interview date. Looking forward to meeting a lot of you!

Anyone else from 11/1 interview get an acceptance today?

10/25 still waiting, this is the 6th week though... we shall see. Idk if they call in any particular order after review by the committee or how many calls they do in a day. We shall see.

i interviewed 10/4, got a letter in the mail dated 11/21 (i checked my mail 11/30) that i am on the alternate list. that means if they make it through the entire waitlist, they may accept me sometime between now and august. pretty bummed

How do you know if you are on the alternate list vs the wait list?

Same.. Just added an LOR from a seal though. Think that would help, especially at this school, anyone?

the letter said alternate list, then directs you to the blue paper from interview day. if they go through the entire waitlist then they will start on the alternate list

So is application on hold different than the alternate list because I don't remember it saying alternate list?

I interviewed on November 1st and was specifically told that I would not know my decision until after the break due to Hurricane Sandy, Christmas, and New Years Day falling on Tuesdays (when they meet).

Anyone who interviewed on 11/08 hear anything yet?

I interviewed 11/8 and got my acceptance call for Army last wed on 12/5, but i haven't received any emails or packets for USUHS to confirm, does anyone know how long that stuff takes to come in?

With holiday mail, I'd say it should arrive for you in the next few days to a week at most. Since I believe it all gets picked up the next mail day (thursday for you) and it takes about 3-4 days for delivery during this time of year, if not a little bit longer.

Are you sure that your interview was on November 8?
I interviewed on the 1st of Nov and was told that we wouldn't receive acceptance calls till after the break.

Yupp, I'm positive I was 11/8, they told us at our interview not to expect decisions until January, but Col. Saguil said the adcom didn't take very long to decide on my application, so they fast tracked it

Thats awesome, congrats!

Hi everyone, quick question:

I had submitted my secondary in mid-August and only just heard back from them. They sent me an email asking me to write an extra essay about "early academic challenges" and how I overcame them.

I think I know why. I had a 3.0 GPA my freshman and sophomore year and then it drastically rose to a 3.6-3.8 (in hard science classes) my junior and senior years.

Has anyone else gotten an "extra essay" email? Is this a good sign, meaning they feel like I'm a good candidate but they want me to justify early grades... or am I looking too much into this?

I don't believe you would be "looking too much" into it in thinking that they are genuinely interested in you. Sounds like this is something that may be holding them back from fully extending an invite to you and justifying/explaining it would remove that barrier.

Honestly, everyone that has been asked to explain a part if their app has gotten an invite. I got one about my clinical experience and got an interview as have multiple people on here.

Ok so how long did you guys make your additional comments? 1-2 paragraphs? I don't want to go overboard.

short and to the point; don't fall into pontificating.

Paragraph 1: identify the issue(s)
Paragraph 2: how you identified the issue [demonstrates self-awareness, and able to accept and deal with one's own weakness]

Paragraph 3: what you did to fix the issue, give an example of how you continue to use this solution in the future to demonstrate you've resolved the issue [so the adcom won't be concerned you still have that liability]

just my thoughts -- there's no right way to do it, just what's best for you. good luck!

Thank you for the response! Looking forward to meeting all of you who have been and will be accepted! I will probably be at the second look in March.

does anyone know if there is movement off the waitlist before march?

Has anyone that has been accepted received their unconditional letter yet?

I contacted Col Saguil about the time frame for receiving the unconditional letter. I was interviewed 10/25 and got the phone call around 11/23 (couple days before Thanksgiving). I received the conditional letter shortly after. When I talked with Col Saguil, he said the main holdup for the unconditional was the DODMERB form. I was medically cleared on Nov 19, and have yet to receive the uncondtional; however, Col Saguil told me earlier today that a batch of uncondtional letters will be sent out shortly (he asked Loretta if my letter is in that batch, but I haven't heard back yet).

I'm sure there have already been people who have received unconditionals (I know one poster mentioned it a couple pages back).

Either way, if you received the letter from DODMERB saying that you are medically qualified, you should be good to go. The security clearance is just a regular Maryland State background check, so there should not be any holdup there.

DODMERB - When having cool, badass stories that landed you in the emergency room bite you in the ass later. Stupid remedials, lol, looks like I won't get an unconditional until after the break at this rate.

Received unconditional acceptance letter!!! YAY!!!🙂

Received a phone call around 2:00 today with a conditional acceptance to the Army program!
Interviewed on 11/15.

Well this is irritating, I've been DODMERB certified since September.. and I haven't received the unconditional yet lol... I'll give them a call.
EDIT: Congrats UNClax!
