My secondary was complete as of Sept 22 and I haven't heard anything yet. Anyone else in the same boat? Judging by the other posts, it sounds like my application would probably be reviewed soon. Am I guessing that correctly? The waiting is killing me. Not really. 🙂 But I would really love to interview at this school!

Thanks Tara for being such a great resource on this board!

I was complete just a little before you and haven't heard anything either

No news means you remain under review/in the pool for a possible interview invite. We've not been able to communicate due to email issue, putting us a bit "behind" in pre-interview releases. Supplemental deadline is quickly approaching, at which time we will see the end of initial applications and, therefore close out the "review season".

Thanks for the response. Kinda makes you hopeful and also weary that a rejection could also be right around the corner. Any idea of when the email should be back to working status?

For some reason I'm starting to get really nervous. I really want to interview at this school.

I believe I saw this mentioned on here before, but UA Phoenix continues to distribute IIs until the end of December right?

Rejected just right now post-secondary. Complete 9/24. Funny since I was finally able to get a clinical experience letter sent out to them today. This one burned since I have friends that go here and love it.

Good luck to the rest of you guys!

I was rejected too. OOS, 3.72 and 32. I must just not of had what they were looking for. At least I already have an acceptance or this probably would of hurt more than it did.

Well my stats are lower than yours and no rejection yet but also no other acceptances. So hoping they invite me out

Also rejected with the same stats. I don't have an acceptance yet, so I can confirm: it definitely hurts.

Sorry to hear that man. This process is pretty trying. Hears to hoping for acceptances

Rejected post-secondary today as well with similar stats. No other acceptances yet so I am still having fun. Good Luck to the rest of you still in the running!

Hi Tara,

I noticed after filling out my secondary that the chemistry portion of the courses section asks for biochemistry to be 4 credit hours. I am enrolled in this class at ASU where the course is only 3 credit hours. Is this satisfactory to fill the requirement? Or shall I enroll in a biochemistry lab to make up another credit hour?

Thank you!

Rejected post secondary here as well. Good luck to everyone still in the running

Course variations are taken into account - 3 is fine.

Update:

1. Supplemental App deadline is Sat at 11:59pm. No extensions will be granted. Tip: technology has a mind of its own and can fail when you need it most. Do not wait until the last day to complete the application.

2. Third round of admission decisions will occur this Friday. 20-30 offers is the target.

3. Calling on American Indian/Alaska Native students in AZ, CO, NM, UT - application for the Association of American Indian Physicians has opened the application for the Pre-Admission Workshop (PAW) that will be hosted by UA Phoenix Med in March 21-24, 2013. Visit http://aaip.org for details.

I don't know if this is weird to ask but is anybody interviewing on the 17th that would like to share a hotel room on the night of the 16th?

I was just wondering if for 3rd and 4th years you can stay in the phoenix area? Or do you move around quite a bit? Thanks for any input.

Each year is different, nationally.

Third-year = required rotations in medicine, family med, peds, ob/gyn, surgery, neuro, etc. approx 53 weeks all done throughout our teaching hospitals in Phoenix (10).

Fourth-year = some required rotations will be done in Phoenix and then about 2/3 of the year is dedicated to "electives", areas of interest to rule in/out for your residency years (graduate medical Ed). This year is considered an audition year as you will be applying/interviewing for residency positions. You will want to complete a rotation with the places you are most interested. One of our fourth-year student admissions committee members has been on "away" rotations since October, mostly on east coast. You travel where you want/can/are selected for a rotation. If you want to stay in AZ, you will do most of your rotations in AZ, but you also have a chance to experience something else, somewhere else.

Hope this helps.

Thanks this helps a lot! I have my interview here on Monday and I am hoping for the best! This is a great school 🙂

Hi, Tara. I was just wondering what time tomorrow you expect to send out decisions. Just want to have my phone handy so that I don't miss your call... (Trying to be extremely positive)

Always stay positive.

We tend to warp up in late afternoon.

I'm working late today, so unfortunately, if I am lucky enough to get the call, there is a good chance I'll miss it. 🙁

I'm also working late today, but lucky to be on the east coast. Good luck to everyone, hopefully we will all get good news today.

ACCEPTED! Just got the call from Tara! (I'm sorry if I was incomprehensible on the other end I couldn't stop laughing) Interviewed 11/19.

Best of luck to everyone else still waiting! Honestly, I could not be happier right now and could definitely see myself matriculating here. Top choice so far by far.

Congratulations! I'm still waiting for news. Anyone else hear anything?

ACCEPTED !!

I can't even believe it. I feel so honored. I'm just -- speechless.

Wow that sucks about the salesman. 🙁

Got my phone reset so can actually receive calls now. So stressful when I thought I couldn't receive calls!

Does anyone know if people who are waitlisted or rejected get the email later in the day? No news yet.

Yeah I'm not sure. Or if we have to check online. I thought more than 2 SDNers would have posted for the 20-30 offers thy were gonna make. Maybe they are too busy out celebrating...

Yes. You get an email of your current status. This is my 3rd round of reviews. No news or email yet. Still hopeful, but optimism is fading...

The stress from waiting is probably going to kill me...
