I know exactly how you feel. I have 2 final papers left to work on and this is all I can think about right now.

The trend last year was to have a separate day for all responses. All the status changes today should be waitlists, while some other day down the road will be a storm of rejections.

It didn't work for me with Safari on my mac laptop but worked with Firefox on my windows 7 work desktop.

Edit: Actually was using Chrome on my laptop....

I've been in shock all day. haven't done anything productive at work. Need to cut back into the groove of things. So bummed... What are the wait list--> acceptance chances? Does anyone remember from Dean Wofsy?

I think our chances are still pretty good - US News claims that last year 277 of the 486 people who interviewed were offered acceptance. 56% has never felt so good!

On our day he said something to the likes of 1/3 of the interviewees are sent outright acceptances, 1/3 waitlisted, and the other 1/3 rejected. If this is what you guys were told (or something similar), then there will probably be around 170 outright acceptances and judging from the post above, I'd say about 80 or so people might come off the waitlist? I could be totally wrong though.

The worst part for me is that I won't hear anything until next month (hopefully :scared:)

That is comforting. Plus David Geffen's donation to UCLA scholarships could indirectly create more waitlist movement at UCSF.
 
I've never posted before. I interviewed on one of the earliest days, but my status still says "interview completed." For those accepted, has your status changed? I am so anxious I don't know if this is good or bad!

My status now says "Your status has been Updated" and the center of the page contains a link to my status update pdf.

Hmm, Im in the same boat but I interviewed about a month ago so maybe I didnt get reviewed yet? We will see
 
Don't worry guys, atleast you're on the UCSF train--waitlisted or accepted. I'm still waiting for a my rejection PDF so I can stop checking my email! Been complete since September and no interview invite or rejection. 🙄

I'm going to indulge in a bit of math...

Let's assume that 1/3 of interviewed applicants are initially accepted, 1/3 are rejected, and 1/3 are placed on the alternate list. If 56% of those interviewed are eventually accepted, that means 56% (total accepted) - 33% (accepted initially) = 23%--so 23% of those who interviewed get accepted off the alternate list. But if only 33% of those who interviewed are placed on the alternate list, that implies that 23/33 = 70% of those placed on the alternate list are eventually accepted. Can that possibly be true?

Oddly it said that the status wouldnt be updated until like January
 
Accepted, too!!!!!! 😀

Wasn't expecting this so early! Didn't read the email until just now, and my family back east is all asleep. I'm bouncing off the walls, using all of my self-control not to call them at 2 a.m. Maybe I'll just yell it out my front door. I've got to tell someone! 😀
 
Accepted via email as well! Interviewed early October. In state with stats below their averages so I'm not sure why I got in, but I feel very honored. An amazing Christmas present!
 
Accepted via email yesterday, I wonder why we didn't get calls. The status isnt supposed up update until January because they are out of the office.

Congrats! I got accepted too and we interviewed on the same day 🙂
 
Does anyone know how late UCSF will be offering interviews? I submitted my secondary (both MD and PRIME) on 10/2/12 and haven't heard a word... 🙁

Same here, except Oct 5. I checked on last year's thread (please don't judge me, I'm only doing this for UCSF) and someone who submitted 10/26 received an II on 01/17. So I don't know, I'm going to hold onto hope for a few more weeks, though I really don't know if this is false hope :|

Don't lose hope. Got an II on 12/28.
 
II yesterday. Application complete on 9/20. There are open dates in late January and February.
 
Thanks so much for the update. This is the only school that I'm waiting to hear back from. Hopefully they'll show some love. My friend applied late last year (secondary in November) and received an II in mid Jan, so fingers crossed. In my top 3.

Thank you so much! That's a relief. Did you get to choose a day? I've had some schedule changes since I submitted my secondary but UCSF doesn't accept pre-interview update letters...

When you're invited to interview they'll give you one last chance at an update letter so just pre-write it and cross your fingers I guess haha
 
Quick question from an OOS applicant: does UCSF take residency into account during its primary screen or its screen of secondaries? Just trying to get some clarity on their process. Thanks all!
 
Yes. I was able to choose from a couple of dates in the last week of January and couple more in first week of February.
 
I wonder when the Dec 13th interview batch will hear? *Finger-biting*

I know it's too early now...just being neurotic.
