I am really not sure how the process works, but someone here wrote that the IIs go out once a month after those committee meetings. So it looks like they are decided once a month during adcom meetings. I am sorry I couldn't be of more help. 🙁

Not really. The city of Rockford kinda screwed the pooch many years ago and declined to have the Metra go there.

You can bus it on Greyhound and Van Galder (another coach bus company), but the timetables are wonky and the station is about 10 miles from the school.

You're best off borrowing or renting a car for the day to make the trip... it's a very pretty and relatively quick trip (I used to make it from Chicago to Rockford in 45min when I went to med school there)...

If all the boxes on the "Supplemental Application Status" are checked, does that mean your application is complete or do you receive an email?

Hey Deb,

I didn't receive any confirmation email from the university. After submitting my application, i also submitted my green card copies since I'm a permanent resident here. That was my last communication with the university before I received an interview invitation from them. So nopp, I didn't receive any confirmation email from them after submitting my app. I hope it helps.

But please do ask some one else just to confirm what I am saying here. 🙂
 
Hi guys,

Quick question (just wanted to double check since I've been waiting on my status to change for 2ish months now), when I log onto the status check page, the date the top saying "Information received from AMCAS as of 08/08/2012" is that date that my application was complete? I never received a confirmation email... is this normal? I submitted my application on 7/12 and I'm still at "Application is in process" 🙁 Sorry for the dumb question and thanks in advance for any responses!

I believe that is your complete date. You should call to check.
 
Been in the "Applicant in Process" pool for about 2 months now...anyone in a similar boat that has received an interview?

I was told this week too. Which means our statuses should be changed tomorrow. Mine still says "decision pending."

Thank you guys for your quick replies. Somehow I missed it when they talked about decision making time-line. Anyways, thanks for your responses. And BEST OF LUCK!! I hope we all will get some good news tomorrow. 🙂 :xf:
 
So I called admissions this morning to ask about my status (Application in process), and they just told me that it takes between 4-6 weeks to process the application. My status has not changed since 8/08 though.... I seriously hope that they look at my application soon. Getting super antsy over here. 🙁

I was complete 7/24 and my status just changed to 'Applicant in Process' last Thursday! Don't lose hope yet

Yeah don't lose hope!!!!🙂 but...I believe there has to be some type of flaw in their system. Example: I was complete on 10/15, and Became "applicant in process" on 10/18. 😕and my stats are far from stellar, I'm just an Illinois resident trying to get in somewhere lol.....so idk what their system is.😕

I read about some "additional correspondence" tab that indicates good news--what does this mean? is it another page that shows up?

If you look in the upper right corner it just says additional correspondence. Thats all I've noticed
 
FINALLY!!! Decision has been made!

I got that "Additional Correspondence" tab in the upper right corner.

According to this:

1. There is an "Additional Correspondences" Tab in the upper-right corner on your status page AND you get a CBC Email (a few days later) = You are (very likely) accepted. --> Goto Z.

Z. "Final Decision Made ..." + "Additional Correspondences" Tab + CBC Email = (very likely) Acceptance ... Wait for a "Fat Packet" via snail-mail. [Note: Sometimes CBC emails come after the packet. CBC emails also might never arrive if you got an acceptance to another school that also does CBC through AMCAS.]

I just thought about it a few seconds ago. I do have that "Additional Correspondence" tab in the right hand corner, but I do not have any date right next to it. Is there supposed to be any date right next to that tab? How about other fellow SDNers who have that "Additional Correspondence" tab? Do you guys have any other info. right next to that tab? Thanks! 🙂

Mine has no date. Just "additional correspondence"--it's not clickable, but it wasn't there this morning when I was still decision pending

I pored through old threads--a date will ultimately be populated indicating the date the adcom sends the snail mail letter to you (just like the dates for interviews in that same grid). I think the mere fact that it appears is good news enough 🙂

Are you IS? you'll probably get the letter sooner than I will, being all the way out here on the coast!
 
I also got the additional correspondences tab! Waiting for the mail is going to be tough.

I'm also instate but I can't hear until Monday at the earliest. I have a mail room that doesn't deliver Saturday mail. Waiting game indeed 🙁

I did call the office to update my address and they told me the packets were being mailed within the hour, by the way.

Oh great! That's fantastic. Now I just can't wait for the "Fat Packet". UIC is one of my top 2 choices; Rush being my another top choice!

Since I don't want to appear insane to the people in my life, I thought this would be a good place to let out the crazy. I had my status changed to "applicant in process" about a month ago, and called the adcom today to ask about my status. They let me know that my file had been looked at, and I should see an update within the next week or two whether I "get an interview invite.... or rejected."

Which logically I know is great because I'll get an update soon, but my premed neuroticism decided to put emphasis on the word, "rejected," when I heard it and caused me to be convinced that I was rejected at todays adcom meeting preinterview. So those of you who have had the "applicant in process," status change within the past few weeks, expect to see an update! And please don't be as crazy as me.

It makes sense. They told me at the interview that early interviewees are usually the ones that they really like, and will most likely accept.
 
Hey guys,

How do you guys know that your application status "in progress"?
When I go to the supplemental application status tab, it just says "Your Application has been successfully submitted. Your IPAY Transaction ID..."

Maybe it's because I submitted this app only like a week or two ago? It's not even in process mode yet?

aaah that comment scares me!.. mine was changed to that status a month ago too and it doesn't help that you put the word rejected in bold lol😱
 
if I don't have the "additional correspondence" tab, was I most likely rejected? Such a fast rejection since I interviewed less than a week ago 🙁

"Additional Correspondance" only shows up after your file has been reviewed. Does your status show that a final decision has been made to your application or are you still "Decision Pending"?

hmm that is kind of strange. Mine shows today's date. Maybe its a computer glitch and your app hasnt really been reviewed yet? Less than a week does sound very quick. Anyway, we are just assuming additional correspondence=acceptance based on last year....so there's no way of knowing for sure until people start getting their letters, Best of luck to you!!
 
Ahhhh! Additional Correspondance and Final Decision Status!....still too cautious to start getting excited....I have no clue how to feel right now

It's that kind of a thing where you know you will be accepted, but still can't celebrate, because the "Fat Packet" hasn't arrived yet!! lol :xf:

Exactly. Hopefully that celebration will get to happen. I can't wait to be able to say "I'm going to med school!"
