A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone

Means Im rejected, right?

Super disappointed, IS 33Q, 3.5s/c, NIH postbac for 3 years, work as a HIV tester/counselor for a year... not sure what went wrong...

Don't give up hope, from reading the earlier parts of the thread this can be an acceptance!

Pre- or post-interview? If it is pre-interview then it does seem like a rejection, but I hope it's not. Best of luck! :luck:

I got the same thing, pre-interview... This can't be good I would think if it was an interview they would email you so that they can schedule it sooner

Unfortunately this was exactly my status last year. rejection came weeks later in the mail. but when I called they refused to tell me anything over the phone🙁

It would be great if they are snail mailing II's and we aren't actually getting rejections...but who knows till we get the mail.

Or they made a mistake and all the rejections were meant to be interviews ! Im being delusional haha.

I like the way you think.. I actually got II through snail mail for another school this year so maybe UIC is the same. Did anyone in this thread get an II for UIC through snail mail?

I just got that same thing, pre-interview...this is sad day. good luck to everyone else.

Yeah mine was pre-interview... absolutely a rejection in my mind unfortunately. I was complete late July. I didn't realize they rejected so early. Sad start for the weekend indeed.

UIC does snail mail IIs, but they also email you, and the status page adds a list of dates instead of saying a decision was made. Sorry 🙁

Thanks for the answer.. good luck to everyone else by the way stats where 30Q ad 3.8GPA for those who are looking for some frame of reference

From what I've heard, if you have the additional correspondence tab up at the top, it means you were accepted.

I also have the Additional Correspondence tab. Really really hoping for good news in the mail!

just got this message in my status page: "A final decision was made on your application on 11-16-12. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

and the additional correspondence tab.

does that mean they mailed my letter today?

Congrats this sounds like good news!

I had this status on Oct 25 and received my accepatance letter on Nov 3 (In Fl)..I believe the letter was mailed the monday or tuesday after I got that status change so hold tight! should arrive in the next week or 2

Those who got "final decision was made on your application" when were you guys complete and how long did you had applicant in progress status? Thanks!

thanks for the info member2017. that is certainly helpful.

bluebean, sorry, i don't know. are you trying to determine how long they sat on applicants who they eventually accepted?

🙁 It's depressing to hear about people with good stats being rejected or waiting this long, a several of my friends who I thought for sure would be accepted to UIC by now were rejected...it says a lot about what a crap shoot applying for med school is and why to apply to many different places! Including Texas and DO, if possible.

If anyone is scheduling an interview at Urbana, some info that might be helpful is that they have panel interviews, mine was of 2 med students and 2 doctors. There is a lot of time for questions so have many prepared! Also, they really will try to sell the Urbana campus to you and have many good things to say about the faculty and research opportunities.

Best of luck!

Still at 'applicant in process' here - I wonder if they will be meeting at all this week (maybe early in the week) or just taking the whole Thanksgiving week off - anyone know?

I interviewed on 11/8 and was told they'd be meeting on 11/15 and then again sometime in mid-December.

so does that mean that there will be no ii's sent out until december? I would really hope this is only for students who have already interviewed

Yeah, this is my question. I guess it depends on if they only send out IIs based on whole committee meetings or some other way.

That, I don't know. Sorry. Just trying to provide the info that I had to give. Not sure how they go about selecting those for interviews.

No worries, thanks for trying to help out!

I called today to see if my application was being reviewed. I've been "applicant in progress for about 3 weeks now". The nice lady on the phone said that my app is with the screeners and it could be "in-line to be review, or already being reviewed". I'm sure you can call if you have any questions, she was super nice. I do hope to hear back soon and hopefully find the "grid" on my status page :luck::xf::luck::xf::luck::xf:

feel the same way mj. waiting on my status page to change post interview. anyone else get an update with a late oct/nov interview?

Interviewed on 11/8. Just checked my status and it says a decision was made on 11/16, and now I have the "additional correspondence" tab, as well.

Rejected via snail mail.

I wasn't keeping track of the whole applicant/application stuff much so I can't help you there.
Complete early July.

decision made post-interview (with additional correspondence tab) on 11/16. still nothing in the mail. who else is getting very antsy? The mailman already came today, so it must be coming early next week. right? lol i'm going crazy.

Are you OOS? haha my fat packet took awhile to arrive as well. I think they take a few days to send out the letter despite the correspondence date listed online. Then plus USPS transit time, the holidays...Sunday tomorrow....

Congrats though!

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using SDN Mobile

thanks! yeah you're right, i'm on the east coast. But still, I was sure it would be here by today. I just need to relax.

IS, packet arrived in the mail today! The acceptance letter is dated 11/20.

I've only completed 2 of the 3 required social science courses, and they didn't mention anything about them in the list of requirements we need to fulfill in order to matriculate. Does this mean I could get away with not taking the last one? Of course I'll call the school to check, I'm just wondering what other people's experiences have been.

Can anyone please send me the link to check your status? I think I might've accidentally deleted that email they sent me

I'm in the same situation, but I had my final course listed as future coursework on AMCAS so I think they're just assuming I'm still taking it. I would still plan to finish all three credits, since I doubt they'd just let a prereq slide - but of course, call to make sure. Congrats!

First acceptance! IS, interviewed 11/1. Had the "additional correspondance" tab on 11/16.
