Does your status have a tab that says "additional correspondence"in the upper right-hand corner? I'm hoping to get an idea of what that might mean given info in past threads...
Also, ii are given by email and snail mail, but I don't think my status changed to that before getting an interview invite.

I never got an email for the ii, just snail mail, which I didn't see until two weeks after it arrived. Anyway, Additional Correspondence + Final Decision made has meant good news for the past 6 years according to threads so I'm waiting for my good news this week as well!

got an interview for the UMed program...but I'm torn because idk if I will realistically be able to attend UIC because its exorbitant OOS tuition...plus the UMed interview is another in-person affair during the revisit day in April...more $$$ for travel that I don't have 🙁

Congrats! How did you hear about it? Email/snail mail? Hoping for one of these...

Thank you for the confirmation! Actually the response was meant for a different person who posted, sorry for being unclear🙂

trying to figure out if people who received this same status pre-interview had an additional correspondence tab as well...in which case it might not necessarily be positive news...

Long time lurker, first time poster. Interviewed December 18. OOS. I have been seeing a lot of posts regarding application decisions. I checked (and have been checking for the last 72 hrs) my status page and mine still says decision pending. Does UIC send out admissions decision on a rolling basis or just certain dates? What does "decision pending" entail? Has anyone been stuck in this decision post-interview?

Thanks a lot, and congrats to those who ahve been accepted!

Just got an email saying No Final Decision made. Does this mean post-interview hold? Anyone else in this boat know what this entails?

It just means you didn't make it this round and they'll review you again at the next adcom meeting which is prolly the third thursday of Feb. Good luck!

Nothing in mail today (for Chicagoland residents) who had final decision on Friday.

Damn. I saw that you had posted and I was hoping that at least one of us made it up and out!

Start a countdown until February 14?

I WISH! It seems like this happens to quite a lot of people. Darn!! I think it's February 21, no? I love the waiting game.... Wait! 🙁

Damn, I forgot that Friday was the first day of February and not Thursday. The 21 it is. Cue the jeopardy theme song.

"A final decision was made on your application on 01-28-13. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

Definite rejection. Already knew, no worries.

Nothing in the mail today for the Chicagoland region. 🙁

I hope they sent out the packets yesterday. 🙂

UIC, my baby, please send me the love letter (read: love packet) that I have been longing for......

my letter took 7 days to travel about 30 miles. just a warning because you all seem so excited.

Yeah, I live less than 5 miles away from UIC and still haven't heard anything...wondering if it will take a week or longer.

still an "applicant in process" after three or so months (i've started losing track!). can anything good come from this?

Definitely. People who are in that status are thee ones who are getting the II's. people will get them throughout February and possibly March (?). Many people have received flat-out rejections from UIC during the cyle. So if you're still in review, that means you haven't been turned down yet!

thanks for the encouragement! i'll keep my fingers crossed and just try to be patient!

my large envelope arrived!!!!!

I was assuming 5 days until apparently it took someone 7 days who "lives down the street" from the UI compared to where I live.

Would you mind telling us the state you live in, and how long it took for it to arrive after you had been notified that the final decision was made?

I hope that's not too personal. If so, then I apologize in advance.

Holy anxiety! 😱

Darnit didn't get mine today. Bloomington, IN. Around what time during the day did yall get yours?

Does anyone know if GMED, the global health program, is specific to any campuses? Sorry if this is a repeat, this thread is long!

This may be a dumb question, but have there been any post-interview rejections? I wonder if they are just putting everyone they don't auto accept on hold...

I only know of one. I may be in the same boat as my additional correspondence tab didn't pop up. Nothing confirmed by mail yet.

GMED is not specific to any campus I think..only the UMed program is

Does anyone know how the dual MD/MPH program works? The website says you have to complete both applications but is this before you are addmitted to the medical school or can you apply after?
Also, I heard the interviewers were pretty tough here, any tips would be greatly appreciated🙂

Just got the acceptance envelope. Everyone who got the additional correspondence tab should be getting it soon. Good luck!

To mdmd21: the interviewers were actually very nice - one of the admission staff members literally said "I don't believe in stressful interviews". But some of us did get one tough interviewer - it turned out he/she wasn't "tough", more as someone who really cared about the interviewing process.
