There's only been one supposed rejection with the additional correspondence tab in the last several years of the UIC threads. I think it is pretty safe to say that you are in. Congrats!
 
If I am still decision pending now, does it mean I have to wait for another month??

Yeah chicago area illinois med school applicants get super screwed during the application process. We get exactly one in-state med school to apply to.

Not worse than being a D.C. resident. I'm originally from Illinois but a DC resident now and I have exactly 0 state schools.
 
I had the final decision message with the additional correspondences tab today too! I sure hope it's an acceptance. I've already been accepted to Rosalind Franklin but I completed my Bachelor's and PhD at UIC so I'd love to stay there and continue my research!

Yeeeep. Stinky. I'm pretty confident at this point that Iowa is going to accept me before UIC does (if they even do at all), which is pretty funny. 😛

It was Feb 27 or 28? Whichever day had interviews.. sorry I don't remember.

So... what happens to all of us in purgatory? I haven't seen anyone get accepted from it thus far. My friend had this happen to her last year here and she ended up getting rejected in JUNE. I know there's a current UIC med student that got accepted off of it, though... but I'm thinking he beat the odds.

Any thoughts?

HalfPast6, weren't you accepted to the MSTP? Does that mean you're withdrawing? or were you just sympathizing with the purgatory people (in that case, I'm with you!)?

Just wondering, 'cause it looked like it was almost all guys accepted in that email Roberta sent out!

No, I was rejected from MSTP and didn't even interviewed for the position, so don't know what you're talking about in the "Roberta" line. (it did give me a glimpse of hope however. haha) 🙁 I was sympathizing with the purgatory people....U of Illinois's waiting list seems like hell considering they send out an email EVERY TIME they decide to keep you on the waiting list. (They already have me on pins and needles with this campus REassignment.)

Ah, I see. Got confused by your MDapps for a hot sec. Congrats on the acceptance though! I hope you get your campus!!!
 
Does anyone know how long it typically takes to get a CBC email after the final decision + additional correspondance? Thanks!

I think it ranges anywhere from 2 days to a week. I got mine 3 days after the online status change. I also read that if you had a CBC done for another school you may not get the CBC email at all.
 
I interviewed in Chicago on 3/8 and Dr. Girotti said that we would have decisions by the end of March. There's still a few days left but everyone on this is saying the ADCOM only meets on the 3rd thursday of the month...did anyone that interviewed on 3/8 hear back yesterday or are we stuck waiting for the April meeting? Also, for people who applied to UMed, how long did it take for them to get back to you with a rejection or an interview invite?

Interviewed early March, still decision pending. Looks like it's a hold status until the next meeting.🙁
 
I interviewed 3/8, my status changed yesterday to "final decision made on.." and i also have d additional correspondence tab. Seriously hoping and praying it's good news...
 
Did anyone who had decision pending for more than one month get accepted afterwards?
 
Just a reminder that this week is Spring break for them, so I don't think anyone will be hearing back this week 🙂

Additional correspondence usually indicates acceptance. I know that you were 3/18 AM, have you moved past "Evaluation not complete"? I'm still there and I was 3/18 PM.

I'm pretty sure that we'll need to wait until the April meeting.
 
Might not be a bad thing though, as more people holding on to multiple acceptances figure out that this isn't where they want to be, they'll withdraw the acceptances opening up more spots. So really waiting another month could turn out to be opportunistic for us 🙂

So if additional correspondence tab is an acceptance, what's a rejection? usually?

And no, I'm still on the same status as you.

Anyone get their fat letter yet from the last adcom meeting on the 21st? I've gone out the check the mailbox an embarrassing number of times.
 
Did anyone that has already been accepted figure out how to get on their UIC email account? When I click on my email it doesn't open up to my inbox. I had my email going to uic forwarded to my gmail for now. Stupid technology!+pissed+

Not sure if either you're in the right thread, or a UIC undergrad student. I don't think any of us got emails since (I'm assuming) none of us are COMPLETELY accepted.

To view your financial aid package online, you will get an email with instructions on creating a UIC account/email etc. Maybe that is what he/she meant. I did not try to log into UIC email. Just forwarding everything for now.
 
Has anyone heard anything back from the GMED program? I thought they would be calling for possible interviews in march.

They extended the deadline to the 22nd and didn't want to extend any invitations/make decisions until they received all apps. When I emailed the committee to confirm they received my submission on 3/20 they said I should hear something within 2 weeks.

Whoops! Nope, I'll be attending UIC med school this year. I was accepted a while back and am just trying to set up all my school crap online. I thought that there were some other peeps in here that were already accepted. Good luck to all of you on getting in!!🙂

Oh, thankfully I got in, but my pre-enrollment requirements are "not yet complete". Honestly I think I'm just waiting on the CBC, but this is how I look. Anyone "completely" accepted?

I called and at one point they mentioned to me that UIC sends out a specific one. I might be wrong though. Do you have the same status screen as I posted above?
