Haha oh did we!? Its hard to remember with all of this anonymity. I would totally schedule for that same day but I have a midterm, so Ill try for the week after. Make sure to come back after your interview and post some feedback!

to those who've interviewed already, what were they like and what were some of the standardized questions? any insight appreciated! 🙂

Interview invite email!! Complete 9/17, IS
I tried to call to schedule a date but didn't get an answer, left a voicemail but I might callback later.

Interview invite via email this morning!

Called and left a message, Adrienne called me back this afternoon. My interview is scheduled for October 30th.

Surprised me because I was only complete 9/27/12, might have helped that this was my alma mater. USF is also one of my top choices. 3.43 cGPA 37Q MCAT were my stats for those interested.

for people who are going to be there on tuesday, are yall stayin at hotels then since hosting is gonna be hard with the med students on fall break?

and are yall goin to welcome dinner on monday?! 🙂

I'll be there Oct 30th also 🙂 and I'm going to look into cheap hotels. though I'm only 2 hours away I'd like to go for the Monday night dinner.

baymont inn and suites is really cheap. im going next week and i think thats where ill be staying

The Marriott Spring Hill Suites off of I-75 in Tampa Palms is a really nice place and not too expensive. You get a discount if you mention you are going to USF. If you won't be bringing a car with you, PM me your interview date and I can check my schedule to see if I can give you a ride to/from USF, otherwise most of the hotels on Fowler have shuttles.

I would offer up my place to y'all but I am not sure anyone wants to come into an apartment with a 110lb Rottweiler and a 5yo child. Not sure which is less appealing 😉

We are on break right now, you should be fine the week of the 30th!

Interview Invite today for Nov. 13!!

IS applicant, CORE only, Secondary submitted 9/27

I submitted my secondary on 8/21 and haven't heard back yet. I was wondering if there is an average wait time or if there is anything I should do in the mean time. As depressing as this sounds, will they tell me if they don't want to interview me or will I just have to keep waiting?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I can relate! This waiting game sucksssss! I love USF!

GPA: 4.0c Biochem major
MCAT: 29R
Secondary complete: 9/11

Still waiting for SOMETHING. I want to go to USF soooo badly!

This med school application process is giving me high blood pressure and other negative health issues... oh the irony.

Interview is tuesday, driving up from miami monday night (probably not going to make the dinner monday) very excited! 🙂

Has anyone who interviewed on or after 10/23 received a decision yet?

I haven't been following this thread but I was hoping those of you who have could give me some insight... I included USF on my AMCAS, and have just been sitting on the secondary because it is so long. I figured I would just not complete it. However, now I'm kind of feeling a second wind in my sails. I would need to have another letter submitted to AMCAS (which I could get, and it would be a really great letter) and finish this crazy secondary... I know it's really late, but it also doesn't seem like thaaat many people are applying here? Thoughts? Is it worth even trying? I am out of state, 3.65/3.3 34Q.

Yeah this thread is pretty dead, but a lot of people in state do apply to USF. Only you can decide if it is worth it to apply. Some of the main reasons I chose USF were some rotations take place at the #1 hospital in Florida and that the last couple years of matches have been very good for competitive specialties. You look like you would be a competitive applicant at USF, good luck with what ever you choose!

Just because people don't post on this thread doesn't mean a lot of people aren't applying. I know two people at USF who have applied and are accepted in ED and they've never heard of this website. Anyway, your stats are pretty good. Just remember that it's a state school, so make your letters and answers count! Good luck.

first II! OOS, complete longgggg time ago

It is commonly assumed that sdn represents about 1/10 of all applicants.

anyone else interviewing for SELECT 11/26?

I got the ii this morning!! Completed 9/24, IS, Core only.....Anyone going to be there 12/11?

LUCKY! I was complete a little bit later than you, so hopefully I will hear something next week. This secondary took too long for no interview invite!!! Psh

I need some advice on submitting my supplementary. I haven't submitted it yet, and but close to finishing it. This is going to be my latest submission so I wanted to know if it would be even a chance for me to get an II at this point. I am OOS candidate with 3.8 sgpa 3.75cgpa and 31Q MCAT. Thank you!

I think the only case in which you have zero chance of an II is if you don't submit the application. I have a friend who literally submitted the last day the previous cycle and is currently an MS1 at USF.

SELECT interviewee here.

I don't really remember specific questions, but SELECT focuses on leadership and emotional intelligence, so I was asked to talk about my experiences with leadership, teamwork, public health, health disparities, etc. My interviewers were both really nice, and the interview itself was very relaxed and conversational. The staff really does a great job of making you feel welcome during the whole day.

One thing that caught me off guard was how small the interview group was - there were only 4 of us that day. It wasn't awkward though, and I felt like we each got a lot of attention from the staff.

Just got the call from Mr. Perez today with an acceptance. Super stoked! Good luck to everyone, the entire process is very low stress.

Thanks for the description! Interviewing a week from now 🙂

Anyone get any strange/difficult questions during the interview? I know SDN has the interview feedback but I was wondering if other people had any additional experiences to add

C'mon USF! No love for me yet.. 🙁 submitted a little late but, this is my undergrad school. I'm still hoping for an II.

Have gotten II at OOS schools, but not FL..my state😕

Same, got accepted to 1 OOS and waiting for a decision on the other. Both have comparable or higher stats than FL schools.

Plus i went to USF, was hoping for some love but I guess not.

I know, what is going on! Maybe they are taking FOREVER because they are reading our ridiculously long secondary essays!

Whatever, I'm gonna just play it cool and wait it out 😎

Core II for January 15th!! Earliest date possible due to the holidays.

Also interviewed here last week for the SELECT program and loved it. About how long did it take for you to hear back from them?

TVRB, when were you complete (secondary) to ii? thanks

I received my 2' confirmation e-mail on Sept 13th
(sorry for late response.)

Good luck to everyone who interviewed on Nov 26th!

Completed my secondary in early October but haven't heard anything back yet. I'm an in-state applicant. Is this normal? 🙁

join the crowd - I have that situation with many. It is normal. And then the schools which you aren't expecting an invite, call me up. I had to retake my mcat so that's why Im later
