Hi:

You should have received an e-mail that your application for admission to the University of Toledo College of Medicine, Medical School for Fall 2013, is complete.

This means that we have received all requested information. Note: As of this date, applications have not been reviewed.

However, your application will be reviewed for an interview decision and we will notify you as soon as a decision is made.

If you indicated you would take/retake the MCAT, a decision will not be made until the test scores are received.

Important:


Ø Interviews are by invitation only.


Ø Please note that you cannot check your status on-line at the website you used to submit your Secondary Application.

Yeah, got that email too. What was the point of it?
 
I'm assuming we only have to fill out the extenuating circumstances essay if it applies...I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one leaving it blank. Anyone else?

I have extenuating circumstances, so I filled it out but if you don't have anything that you think are extenuating circumstances I wouldn't write something just for the sake of writing something.
 
Hey guys, I have a couple questions.

1. If I apply to the MD/MSBS program and get rejected, am I automatically rejected for the regular MD program as well or will I still be considered for the regular MD program?
2. Does the MD/MSBS program provide a stipend? Does it have a higher tuition?

Alright, I'll jump. I got 93.8% in a physics course. Fully expected that to be an A. When grades were released, I saw the A- on my transcripts. Emailed my professor and he said that in his class, one had to get 94% to get an A. 😱

I was speechless.
 
Oh good grief... Toledo needs to get their act together and start sending out interview invites.

:laugh: you gotta laugh so you don't cry man... there is some famous quote about that... that seriously does suck man 🙁 ... but you know what it just goes to show how screwed up the grading system is sometimes and i think it's one of the reasons adcoms don't just look at gpa alone... in the long run that one A- won't matter and you'll still become an excellent physician... it's a great venting story though!

Rofl that's exactly what happened to me too! I had a 93 or something in my physics class and got an A- because the cutoff was a 94 (which was on the syllabus, so I shouldn't be complaining, but come on 😛)
 
that sucks BigBear hugz...luckily my physics grade was covered...yay first semester!

Edit: last year's thread said that for those who want to send pre or post interview updates...that they should be limited to one page and sent to [email protected] but I couldn't figure out where they got this info from and if it still applies for this year... does anyone know this? also am curious if the one page needs to be a pdf, doc, or in the body of the email....

i looked on the website but couldn't find it so am hoping someone knows...I will go ahead and call if no one does but I'm out of the country right now so am hoping someone on SDN knows 😛 so i can same the cost of the international call haha

It's by email, or at least mine was. I am not aware of any schools sending invites by phone.

Interview invite for me came yesterday ~12:00pm. Hoping to interview on the 17th 🙂

How responsive is this school to in the area emails?
 
Anyone else get the 'you're complete again' email. This is getting frustrating. Just send an invite!
 
yep, thought it was a rejection. havent really looked through this thread, any interviews at all go out yet?
 
+5.... This is the 3rd complete email I've gotten since submitting, each a little different. I like that they're making the effort to communicate, but I still have no clue if they have even looked at my app yet.

LOL I woke up to the email. I had a mini MI when I saw the subject line but after I read it I was like, what was the point of this? Lol. Guess we have to keep waiting 🙁
 
Hey guys, since it seems like there's 0 representation from the students at UTCOM, i'm just gonna jump in here with y'all. I'm a current M1, if you have any questions i might be able to answer them.
 
For those who have interviews coming up, or have already had them, I got my interview invite recently (and confirmed date), what time does the interview day start and end? Will be in the area (a couple hours away) and debating whether to go down the night before, or just drive up early that morning. Trying not to pay for a hotel, but if the day starts at like 8am, then I'll go the night before.
