Here is an encouraging post from last year's Duke Application thread:

If you get there at 8:15, you're going to be the last one there and all the good food will be gone. Best bet is to be in the admissions office before 8.
The half hour is a chance for you to meet current students as well as getting to know fellow applicants. Everybody's really friendly, so even if you're not Captain Extrovert it's easy to strike up a conversation and start off your day on the right foot.
Agreed. I always hated being the last one to the interview room. I felt so out of place and on top of that, you don't really get to talk with anyone when you're the last one in.
Can't confirm for sure, but I think it would be ridiculous to only base their decisions on an applicant's MMI performance.
As with all interviews, everyone is ranked on a staircase before the interview. Your interview performance can either push you up a step or move you down 5 steps (if you bomb it). In most cases, everyone stays where they are and offers are made going from the top of that staircase until they fill the class.
Duke made it very clear at my interview that they did not want nor care for update letters
I called and asked about preinterview updates and they said not to send them.
At one point early on in the cycle they accepted them. Back in mid-September, I called and talked to Ms. Clark in the admissions office who happily informed me that I could send my update of a co-author paper publication and I received a confirmation email from her that the update was added to my file. But as of October-ish, many SDNer's are reporting that they no longer accept them
Has anyone recently received an interview invite?!? Trying to hang on to hope......

I know someone who got one last week but the only dates available were end of feb, not be the bearer of bad news. I think they're close to being done? Decisions come out early march right?

Rejection season seems to be upon us -- maybe Duke will follow soon as well? I don't think I've ever fully understood the importance of closure until this year, hahah.
Duke, if you're going to send me that rejection, just do it now. No hard feelings. Really! I think you're fantastic, but I know I might not be the one you're looking for, and thats okay. In fact, I'm itching for that rejection so I can just move on to the next stage in this process (spoiler alert: more waiting!). Just let me be freeeeeee!

Lol at least you only have one school to hear back from pre interview.
Duke is probably still sending a handful of invites to make up for people who drop their interview date. Last year, there was someone who got an interview invite the day before mass rejections came out (and someone's rejection status suddenly changed to an interview invite status too).

assuming I have one coming, yet somehow have been spared thus far.... dont understand why it's taking them so long to just change everyone they are going to reject status (seems like something that should only take a few hours at most), but this has me obsessively checking my status page so that I can finally have an answer of some sort from them...
+1 to this. I have checked seventeen times since the status changes started.
I feel a little led on at this point.
Also have status change rejection. Sucks, I really poured myself (and many hours) into this secondary. Complete August 16th I think.
Seems like everyone that's been rejected this week was complete in August. I wonder if they're just going through all applications in order of completion date and rejecting/handing out out the last few invites as they go along. I was complete 9/26 and I bet that's the only reason all of yall were rejected before me.
