Has anyone been invited to interview with the residency directors for ACE-PC?

I didn't apply to that, but I got waitlisted to the TEACH-MS program. I will hear if I got in/rejected/waitlisted this Friday though.

Nope, I applied to the SJV program though and haven't heard anything back from them yet.
 
The wait is nerve wrecking. How do they notify acceptances, through email or phone call?
 
So, I have an interview but due to a family commitment, I'm not sure if I'd be able to make the student-run clinic tour (i.e. I'll probably have to hop in the car at an ungodly hour, Saturday morning, in order to get back home in time, anyway). I hate to ask this (sounds "weasel"-ish, even to me) but does anyone know if that would massively hurt my interview chances? In other words, are you really, really expected to go to one of those tours? I do want to go but I really don't think I can. Any thoughts?

I had work the next day and couldn't attend but messaged asking if I could go another weekend. They don't allow that, either... so I didn't go. But I got waitlisted so... yeaaah hahaha hope that helps..
 
The clinic tour is optional, and as such, it should have no influence on if we'll get accepted or not. I won't be able to make the clinic tour either since I work Saturday. Its best not to get stressed out over not being able to attend.
 
Like SS said, it has absolutely no influence on your app. Its pretty cool though because you get to see the kind of exposure you can get in your first year!

I have my Davis interview tomorrow and I was just invited to interview for ucd prime. Not sure if I need to be accepted first before ucd prime can give me an acceptance. Anyone know?

From my understanding for UC Davis PRIME programs an applicant must be accepted to the regular UCD SOM program, and from there you may either be accepted or rejected to the PRIME program. At my UCD interview day there were other applicants who had received an II for one of the PRIME programs.

I had something to do the day after my interview and could not attend the clinic tour. I got accepted 2 weeks later - so the tour is really optional!
 
Interviewed Jan 24, got the acceptance call from Dr. Sousa on Thurs Feb 6, around noon! Question for others who have been accepted -- how long do you have to give them an answer? I saw somewhere else that it's 2 weeks. Is that really all the time you get?

(Also, to respond to the recent question, I also skipped the clinic tour due to time constraints, and it doesn't appear to have mattered.)

I believe it's 2 weeks, but you can hold multiple acceptances so it's no big deal. If you think there's even a chance that you would attend Davis, just accept the offer. You can make your final decision much later once you see financial aid offers and such.
 
Waitlisted today, interviewed mid-Jan. Disheartening to say the least; of 5 interviews, 3 WL and 2 no decisions yet.

Stay positive buddy! I was waitlisted too. I was really bummed but just remember up to 50% of WL applicants may be accepted.. That's the best % I've had all cycle! Haha 🙂
 
Loved my interview here! Amazing staff and perfect day schedule! They really take care of their applicants here 🙂

Many many opportunities here! Can't wait to hear back in two weeks!
 
This may seem like a silly question, but is the med host program one in which you stay with the student Thursday night for the Friday morning interview or do you stay Friday night for the Saturday morning tour?
 
Does any of you guys know if UC Davis is "true" P/F or with internal ranking? Are lectures mandatory? Also, the curriculum is not entirely organ based right? It seems the first year is sort of like traditional but second year is more like [pure] organ based. Am I wrong here? Also if current med students can shed some light on their experience at UC Davis, that would be awesome. cheers!
 
Just answering my own question from above: I did receive an invitation to interview with the ACE-PC program today. 🙂 Initially at least it looks like there are two dates available (Feb. 25 and March 6). The interviews are 45 min long and can be done either via Skype or in person.

If anyone's offered a date other than those above, I'd be interested in knowing. I'm curious how many people total they are going to invite to interview for this new program, seeing as they aim to have 4-6 students in it the first year.
 
Has anyone heard back from TEACH-MS? I have an interview for rural PRIME and I was wondering if I could still get another interview for a different program.

From my understanding applicants can only apply to one of the specialized programs ( that's why I only filled out the questions in the secondary pertaining to one of the specialized programs). Did they tell you that you will soon receive a TEACH-MS interview? If not then maybe they thought you were a better fit for the rural PRIME program. You should call admissions and clarify if you prefer to be considered for one of the two specialized programs.

Hey guys. So does anyone know how the waitlist at Davis works? I know their pre-interview PDF said they offer acceptances to 106 people and waitlist ~130. But I called and they said they offer acceptances to about 220-230 people. Does that mean that all the acceptances being handed out right now will reach the 106 limit and then once that is full they will take off the waitlist? Or is there an acceptance pool of 220 plus a waitlist pool of ~130?

My understanding is that they accept a total of 220-230 students (including those pulled off the waitlist). So the 230 number includes outright acceptances and waitlisted students that are offered a spot in the Spring.
 
Just wanted to say good luck for everyone still finding their schools. It's long an grueling, but in the end it pays off (even after multiple application cycles)! Stay strong and PM me if you need support.

So the students they are accepting now until they end interviews are only part of the 106 acceptances? And then the rest of us in waitlist will comprise the rest after interviews are over? But it wouldn't make sense because all of 106 acceptances would have to be turned down in order to add another ~120 to make a total of ~220 overall acceptances.

I'm not involved with admissions in any way, so I can't say for sure, but I would guess that they outright accept 150-200 students, knowing that up to half of them will choose to attend another school. If, once May 15th passes and everyone only has 1 acceptance, the enrollment number falls below the desired 106 mark, they draw from the waitlist (adding to the total of number of acceptances). UC Davis is a great school, but doesn't have the "pull" of UCLA/UCSD/Stanford/etc, so they have to account for a good number of their students to accept offers elsewhere.
 
I love UC Davis! I wish they would accept me off the wait list already!! 😍

Same here. Waitlisted at 3, waiting on 2 decisions, and no more interviews lined up (come on UCI/UCR/Baylor plz). Just gotta be patient :S
 
According to an insider, there are 3 more interview dates (including tomorrow), and the last interview date will be Feb 28th. This week and next they are going to select and invite those in the interiew waitlist. Good luck everyone!

It took me three cycles to be accepted. Each time was more difficult than the last, but finally I got in. Three waitlists sounds pretty good to me. That's pretty much an acceptance waiting on someone to drop. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

I applied to both PRIME and TEACH. My top choice is TEACH but I haven't heard back. You can still interview for two track programs right?

I just read on the secondary FAQs that you can only apply for one clinical track.
I suppose they invite applicants based on where they think they are the best fit. I'm not sure though. Congrats on the PRIME interview!

Anyone else have ideas on this?

If there's an interview this Friday, then they will make the call on Thursday. If you're waitlisted or rejected, they'll email you on Friday.

I thought interviews went through April?
