I have been under review for exactly a week...8 days tomorrow.

Yep, I've been "under review" for about two weeks. Please note that my letters were likely not received until last Friday or this Monday. Fingers crossed for good luck this week!
 
GOD IS GOOD!!!! interview invite 🙂

I was driving all day from NorCal past LA into socal.... and I was so bummed that I got ZERO emails today...

But I checked my status page before bed. 🙂

EDIT: I was complete on 7/18.

30/3.5 cgpa/3.5 sgpa so really not that surprised that I've been rejected post secondary sigh*

OOS applicant but UC Berkeley grad
secondary received 7/15
secondary submitted 7/21
rejection 7/23
 
Been sitting on Under Review for 21 days now...begging for a change.

No undergrad biochem, but I indicated I plan on taking it before matriculation. I don't know if that has any impact on the review.


EDIT: II received on 8/4, 24 days after secondary completion. Really excited, I would absolutely LOVE to go here!

How long has it been taking people to get secondaries? I was verified on July 30 and am already freaking out because I haven't received any secondaries from schools that pre-screen :-/
 
When I applied in 2011, I stayed "under review" for a month before they rejected me. I don't think they like to keep people hanging for that long.... You never know, good luck guys
 
Did anyone who was complete on or after July 19th got an interview invite yet?

Still under review, it's been 23 days.
 
been under review for 10 days now...NERVOUS!!!! hoping for some Cali love!
 
For the secondary app, are you guys entering your lab section separately? All my science courses included lab.
 
How long was the time between AMCAS verification and any word from UCI about being under review?

I know there's been a long gap between review and actual secondary invite, but this is one of the few schools I have not received any confirmation of actually receiving my application. Congrats to everyone else so far though!
 
yes I got an emailing stating "The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine has received the electronic version of your AMCAS application" right before I received my secondary invite
 
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm looking at flights, and there aren't any out of irvine after 5 PM. I can't make that flight if my interview ends at 4 PM. If anyone else have this issue, what are you guys doing? Just sleeping another night there? Do you think I can ask admissions if I can leave before 4?

You should check LAX and Ontario airports. They're a little further away from the school, but they will have many more flights than John Wayne (I assume that's the airport you're referring to). Also, Ontario and LAX are usually cheaper. Depending on where you are coming and going from Virgin America usually has red eye flights that are reasonably priced from LAX.

Look at flights to/from LAX. It's less than an hour away, and I'm sure they have more flights. There are also rather cheap shuttles between Irvine and LAX if you aren't planning on renting a car.

I agree with LAX but do not book anything out of Ontario airport on a weekday after 5pm. The traffic going from OC to the IE is terrible (91 or 57), and you're likely to be stuck in traffic for a few hours. Try Long Beach airport? I know Jet Blue has a hub there.
 
There's a decent flight out of LAX at 7:40 PM. How bad is the traffic from UCI to LAX at 4 PM? Thanks for the help guys!

should be fine. you'll get to lax by 4:45, and if there's an accident, 5:30 at the latest

I was verified July 31st and got my secondary invite a few hours ago 😀. I received their "we have received your primary" and "invitation" within 1 minute of each other, lol
 
I have been "under review" since 07/12. It's been almost a month. Ah this is frustrating and making me nervous. Do you guys think this is a bad sign? 😕
 
Does anyone know how this school screens? My AMCAS was verified on 8/05 and I received a secondary invite on 8/07. Is the screen basically if you meet the minimum gpa and mcat or is there more to it?
 
For the activities list, under the "school activities" section, are people listing academic related activities or things like extracurricular clubs done while in school?

As far as I can see, the website only says that you need 3-6 letters in your file. I don't think they specifically ask for a letter from a specific source though.

I am thinking about writing an in the area email here. I will be in the LA area a month from now (not for another interview), so I figure they would need that much advance notice.

Has anyone tried an in the area email here and what have the results been?
 
my interview status is still "under review" but an admission status and an intent to register bar popped up under that one and there are "instructions interview" and "schedule interview" tabs on the left that werent there before. the instructions interview tab is a document that says congrats on your interview invitation and describes how interview day works but the schedule interview tab says you havent been awarded an interview yet. did these tabs appear for everyone who is still under review? needless to say this is quite confusing

also under review with the same thing. if you click on "Schedule Interview" it will tell you that you haven't been awarded one or already scheduled a date, so you can't schedule on that page. I'm assuming they just put these things there for everyone?

I have those too and I'm still under review. So I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

This is what mine says. I am pretty sure it means nothing because I am a below average MCAT OOS applicant. I probably dont have an interview invite just waiting to be sent out.

Those tabs were actually there for me when I was filling out the secondary. I am pretty sure it doesn't mean anything.

+1 they've been there since day 1 even before I submitted my secondary.
 
I received an email back about my in the area request pretty promptly. It just said that my request for an expedited review has been forwarded to the committee. I know this doesn't guarantee anything, but I hope I hear one way or another soon.
