Congrats!

Fyi, I did not receive a confirmation email at all, so don't worry if that happens.

Also, the dinner was nice (a lot of MS1 and MS2 students attend and are able to answer questions)...plus you get free food. Personally, it helped me relax before the interview because all of the students seemed very happy/friendly. With that said, it is not essential because you also get the opportunity to ask questions during the student panel and medical education building tour.

Does anyone know if we have to get the UCInetID soon? I have my interview in February, but on their website is says January 15th for the UCInetID. I'm having trouble getting one ( it says my ssn can't be verified) and I'm wondering if I should call the Help Desk, or if signing up is only possible after the interview or something.

Never mind, I guess January 15th is the date that we can begin signing up 🙂
 
Sorry if this has been posted before, but does UCI accept pre-interview update letters or letters of intent?

Thanks everyone for the information. How did you submit your updates? I assume through email to their admissions department? Or did you send a typed letter in?
 
Completed since early September.... silence since then. Do they do silent rejections?

Yup, I emailed the admission office 🙂
 
Aaaah, total silence for me since 9/4. I thought I submitted earlier but it turned out the "payment" button does NOT = the submit button.

They took an update from me on Friday though, let's see if that has magical properties.

For those who received interviews, which email did you use to send your photo? I never received an interview confirmation email, so I'm not sure which address to use.

I sent it to the one they recommend in the interview instructions. You can also just bring 2 passport style photos to the interview. (they will provide you with an envelope and collect them around lunch...so they probably don't care if you send it in advance.)
 
Anyone who has already interviewed here know any details on the pre-interview dinner. I have my II scheduled on Friday and have not received an email about the dinner. Thanks!

They should send you an e-mail soon. The pre-interview dinner is student-run, so it may just be a busy week for the students. Mine was just 7-9pm the night before my interview at Gina's pizza in Irvine. Good luck!
 
Hey guys, new to this thread so I apologize if these questions have been answered...I've been complete since mid-Sept, IS, IIs at UCSD and UCSF but silence from Irvine.

Does Irvine accept in-the-area requests?
And it looks like the consensus is that updates ARE accepted -- what email did you send them to?

II today, available dates are March 10th and 31st.
 
i got rejected within 1 day after submitting my secondary back in September. you guys think they even read my secondary? or was just a sham to get my money.

For those who have interviewed, what email address did you send your photo to? It actually says "photos" in the interview instructions PDF. does that mean they want more than one? haha
 
Is the applicant portal not working for anyone else?
 
Does anyone here have the following on their status page: "Appeal Status: Initiated". This is post-rejection, which also says "Final Action," so I'm not particularly optimistic about anything coming from this.

Don't give up hope. There are posts on last cycle's thread (2012-2013) for UCI indicating that UCI was sending out IIs as late as March for folks who were complete in August and September:

II on 3/21/13 though complete on 8/21/12
II on 3/13/13 though complete end of Sept. 2012
II on 3/8/13 though complete Aug. 2012

Rejected today (pre-interview). Completed mid-September.
Found out through online portal first, then hours later, received the email. Hope other people are faring better.
