2014-2015 Rutgers University - NJMS Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Interviewed in mid october, just accepted. I was very nervous due to them telling me 4 weeks until I hear back especially because im OOS. The date passed and then some, so dont worry if they passed that 4 week mark there still is hope. Good luck to all applicants.

Congrats! Did you just receive the phone call?

Thats wonderful, do you mind telling what time of day he called? I'm starting to get a little neurotic and just want to make sure I'm by my phone in case I get a call

I got the call on a Sunday evening, a friend of mine missed the call on a Saturday evening and they left a message so don't worry about missing the call.
My friend interviewed after me and heard back a couple weeks before me so the timeframe can vary from person to person. All you can do is relax and hope they call, try not to stress too much.

Thanks so much! It appears like Dean Heinrich calls in his free time in the evenings so I'll try to relax as much as possible haha

For those who have been able to meet with Dr. H before you submitted your application, could you tell us how you were able to set that up?

He only meets with prospective students on Thursdays. Call the Office of Admissions and ask to schedule a meeting with Dr. Heinrich and they'll give you some available times on the coming Thursdays

or send him an email and the office of admissions will help schedule you

What is the wait time post interview for a decision? I know its probably different for everyone just trying to get an estimate.

Anyone know how often or when the ADCOM meets?

I think it's every Thursday.

Also I was told a month from my interviewer that a decision will
be made so hopefully it's not much longer than that

Was also accepted recently. Interviewed in nov. Dr. Heinrich was incredibly kind and knew quite a lot about me from my application. Truly was a pleasure speaking to him, but I unfortunately believe that I will be matriculating elsewhere due to a variety of personal reasons (although I really enjoyed NJMS while I was there).

Just out of curiosity - are their any current students at NJMS that could comment on RWJ vs NJMS - ie. did any of you have to choose between the two and how did you reach said conclusions?

I am also interested. I am in the same dilemma choosing between what school to attend. I want to stay in NJ and they are the 2 best programs. Although I think RWJ is slightly higher ranked.

Has anyone been contacted regarding updates to their application by any chance?

Note: sorry i accidentally originally posted in Robert wood at first!

I sent in an update and was not informed that they received it. However, when I received the call from Dr. Heinrich, he specifically mentioned the update - so they got the letter of update but I was never informed by the admissions office - hope this helps.

Actually they sent ME an email asking for updates...was wondering if anyone else had this happen? Thanks for your help!

Out of state applicants, How do you plan to change your residency to instate before matriculation?

been pretty quiet for a few weeks on the acceptance front here it seems..

I know a couple people who got acceptance calls in the past few days, so they are still going out. They interviewed Oct - Nov.
