Has anyone received an acceptance or hold letter in the mail yet???
I haven't heard anything yet and i think we interviewed on the same day. A friend of mine who interviewed at south last year said that they told me they would send out acceptance/hold letters within a week or two following his interview date but it ended up being almost a month before he received his letter.

Is there anyone else viewing this forum that has not gotten a notification of acceptance/hold/wait list yet? I saw that some other people who interviewed on 10/22 have heard back already but I haven't gotten anything yet. My mailbox is sort of out in the country so I know it may be an ordinary delay, but I wasn't sure. Anyway, are there other people out there who are still waiting?

Does anyone know if they send acceptances to your permanent address or preferred address, which is identified on your AMCAS?

For all of you that have been accepted, do you mind sharing your stats with the group so we know where we stand?

Congrats guys! Good luck in your interviews

MuleDoc, when did you become complete with USA?

Does anyone know the laptop requirements for USA students?

For those of you who have had your interviews here, what is the setup? How was your experience overall?

3 different interviews by 3 different people. Very relaxed and laid back. Just be prepared yo answer the normal run of the mill questions and be prepared to ask them questions.

Does anyone know if its true that the Admissions Committee meets on the 15th of every month?

I'm crossing fingers to find out about an interview this week...I submitted my secondary on 10/10 and had my letters complete on 10/31

Take this for what it is worth. The admissions committee meets every other wednesday (when not interviewing applicants) to give applicants the 1-10 score. I assume this is also the time when they make the decision to send out interview invites. I'm sure it is exactly like the scene in animal house

LOL!

Thanks for chiming in, I think you're right, or at least close to it.

Here to hoping I return with good news today...

Hey just got an II. Been complete since like July so I was not expecting this. I'm technically OOS, but am in a part of Florida that they consider IS. Excited to check things out.

I received my II yesterday for Feb 25th. I have been complete since Sept 11th.

Unless this is an atypical year, looking at previous years threads they are finished w/ Interview dates by the first week into March. For example, last year was March 12th

Gotcha. I guess the sooner interviews are over, the sooner everyone can hear back.

Using this information as well as the grades from their interviews they will make the waitlist

a) Beginning in February of each year, a medical school that has accepted an applicant can view the other school or schools that have accepted the applicant, if applicable.

b) Beginning in April of each year, a medical school can view the other school or schools that have accepted the applicant, even if that applicant has not yet been accepted by the medical school.

The waitlist will hopefully come out sometime early/mid April w/ movement happening in May and beyond

You guys have any guess when the last round of interviews are going out?

A co-worker of mine sent an email to the admissions office a week ago, and she was informed that they have scheduled interviews through to March so "it would be awhile". Hope this helps

"Hi,

You'll know by the first week of March."

is the response I got from Peggy when I asked that question

A French guy, a mathematician, and a priest walk into a bar.

Bartender says, "what is this?? A joke???"

interviewed yesterday sounds like south cant accept many people because uab isnt accepting a lot of people yet. So i would assume there will be a big spurt at the end of march to fill up the classes and start wait lists. I think the wait lists came out mid to late april last year.

Just to clarify, but from the way I understood from when I interviewed, you either get put on hold or accepted. Right? Or do some people just not hear anything?

Really appreciate you passing that along

I heard from someone who interviewed last week that they would be lowering the score 2 more times during March!
Historically they have dropped the score several times in March in years past. According to Peggy they have not dropped the score at all yet......

they'll drop it once all interviews are complete i assume then again 2 weeks or so after that.

Well, today is the start of the first week of March. Anybody get an II today?

Interview declined

Good luck in your first year everyone! I'll see the rest of you in next year's thread

Anybody for sure going to South over other schools?
Currently south is my #1 over other schools that I've interviewed/ interviewing at like UAB and Tulane, but I'm going to wait to make a final decision until financial aid comes out.
