2014-2015 University of Cincinnati Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think the reason they are doing this is to attract competitive students to ohio.. it wouldnt make sense to do it and make it difficult to attain when plenty of other states dont have such incentives for OOS students

And by just as easy, you mean easy? Your sentiment that it is set at the state level makes sense, but I do find it odd that OSU touts how easy it is (relatively, I'm sure there are still many hoops to jump through), while UC claims it is difficult. Does anyone have experience or know someone at UC who has actually tried to obtain IS tuition after initially being OOS? Sorry if it sounds like I'm belaboring the point, but I really love UC (I'm actually at their library right now) but am hoping there is a reasonable chance I could get IS tuition eventually if accepted here.

As stated above, everyone who meets the state tests get IS after y1. Of those with a desire to gain IS status (that do not have OOS parents footing most or all of their bills -- and even then there are ways around this), ~100% will be reclassified to IS each year.

Hey! If anyone is still looking for housing, I'm looking for one more person (guy or girl) to fill a 3BR/2BA house that is literally right behind the medical school building. Lease starts August 1st. Please PM me if you're interested, and I can send you pictures and more information 🙂 There will be two students in UC's SMP program who are living there (one guy and one girl--both nice/friendly/studious people!)

can any current students share where they live! I am looking for a one bedroom for next year !

So since I'm assuming many accepted students still check on this thread...when (if at all) were you notified of merit/need scholarships? Do any of them require special scholarships? Recently accepted, but I got a scholarship at another school I was accepted to and I was wondering if I should notify the school!

Just get an Ohio driver's license as soon as your arrive, preferably Aug 1 or before, and don't have your parents pay your rent/lease/mortgage. That's all you need.
I don't know if the Indiana and Kentucky residency loopholes still exist but they did 2 years ago.

Good luck everyone!

Confirmed, if you live in KY you can be "in state" with a small fee (well under a grand) for the metro area but you must live in KY all 4 years to stay in state (if you move to Ohio, it again takes 1 year to become "in state."
