My money is on mid-month as thats when they seemingly make calls
Hey Spartan I am sorry to hear that, I do remember reading elsewhere on their website (maybe the FAQ?) that they are not willing to discuss why someone was not admitted or interviewed and some general statement about attending an information session of some kind. If you received an II from a good DO school I definitely strongly encourage you to attend and if accepted to go for a few reasons. This process is such a crap shoot that even the perfect applicant can get rejected at any school, if you have any opportunity take it and run with it. Is the end goal to go to a specific school or to have a career as a physician? Also, I don't think you would establish CO residency as a student here for a masters so even after all the substantial work that would require you would be left in much the same place as where you started. Finally, no school is the end all be all program, all have their strengths and all have their weaknesses I wouldn't bend my life around the idea of one program because hey maybe it wasn't meant to be or maybe you find you would have been happier elsewhere. Whatever you decide I hope you don't think I am discouraging you from following your dream, when I interviewed at CU I fell in love with the program and will go if accepted in a heartbeat but if it is not meant to be that's just a hiccup in the real goal: being a great doctor! Good luck going forward!Hi all,
I received the pre-II rejection email today and I was planning to call the adcoms b/c their FAQ says that there is "a special time for counseling applicants is set aside at the close of the admissions process for non-accepted students." However, I just called and the admissions specialist who I was connected to said that this is inaccurate information and that she will have to update the site.
To say the least, I am a little frustrated because I have Colorado ties, this was my mom's alma mater and the university where she completed her Master's and attended for medical school and I am serious about reapplying here as my top choice.
I was planning to move here to establish residency (I live in one of the unlucky state-school-less NE states) and complete a Master's in Biotech & Biomedical Sciences at CU.
However, I just received an II to a very good DO school in the region in which I live and this opportunity has sort of felt bittersweet as it is a little restrictive of my dream. I have other reasons for why I want to attend CU Denver as well, and I am willing to pm/dm if anyone is able/willing to help (as well as share my stats).
Sorry, I just felt stonewalled by the specialist and I wanted to turn here to see anyone has any advice as to whether doubling down with this master's program and establishing residency in CU (something I can actually quite easily do as I have lots of family there and can/am willing to rent+register my car+obtain a colorado license) to establish IS status, or potentially attend the DO school if I get in.
I dont know if this is the correct thread for this question but I just feel caught between a rock and hard place and I am desperately seeking advice on this issue.
Thanks

I am going to agree with @Grenerd. It is extremely difficult to get into CU if you are not from Colorado ( and from Colorado ) even if you do have ties here. Also establishing residency here means that you have to be in Colorado for a year for a primary reason that isn't school. My boyfriend just finally got a Colorado residency for school purposes and it took a while. Also if you applied for the next cycle you definitely would not be considered a Colorado resident.Hi all,

It seems that most calls either go out between like 10-11 mountain time or 130-230 mountain time, to add to your neuroticism (mine has been bad, as you can tell).I am doing my best not to sit and stare at my phone waiting for this call. Assuming one will even ever come!!
Yes also to add Tuesday's and Wednesday seem to be more popular days as well..It seems that most calls either go out between like 10-11 mountain time or 130-230 mountain time, to add to your neuroticism (mine has been bad, as you can tell).

So... we should all get wonderful phone calls tomorrow morning... right? 😉
In all seriousness, best of luck to you all this week! I'm hoping to see lots of happy posts!!!🙂
I think it depends on the track. I am pretty sure rural track is decided upon acceptance, global is by April and the others you can work on after matriculation. I think that's what I remember from the interview.I couldn't find this info in last year's thread but when do they release decisions for the tracks? Is it before April 30th?
Also good to see CU is rising in the rankings. Up 5 spots to 35 this year!
I think CU-Unite (urban) is like Rural in terms of timelineI think it depends on the track. I am pretty sure rural track is decided upon acceptance, global is by April and the others you can work on after matriculation. I think that's what I remember from the interview.
I actually think I meant that one instead of global. I couldn't be sure though . I think rural was he only one with a decision upon admission because we had to interview before for the rural trackI think CU-Unite (urban) is like Rural in terms of timeline

Nothing here, but I hear you on the service thing. Only our microscope room has service for me or the window at the end of the hallway. I'm doing experiments I wasn't planning on until next week just to stay in that room haha.ANY CALLS YET? Jeez man I'm dying over here. I often work in a facility with no cell service, so that's only adding on to my anxiety.

Time for more (over)analysis.

Are the dates and days of the week that calls have been made. There were 22 days between the previous two call dates, and if that pattern holds, we should expect calls tomorrow. Heres to hoping.
Congrats on UCSF, and best of luck!I think I'm giving up on Colorado. I interviewed on 10/17 and am a strong in-state applicant (I managed to get into UCSF out of state). I wanted to give the CU vs. UCSF decision some strong consideration but I'm fed up with waiting. I'm disappointed with my state school. Of the 13 schools I applied to, CU has definitely been the worst communicator.

So now that we know that calls go out on two other days besides Tuesday and Wednesday, we can obsessively stare at our phones four days of the week instead of two.Time for more (over)analysis.

Part of me wonders if people have received calls this week but are not SDN members or do not post.
I would like to know about the rejections timeline too.I was just worrying this early. OUR SAMPLE SIZE IS TOO SMALL.
Follow-up question: when/how do they notify people about rejections?
Agreed. I was counting people who have been actively posting in the recent past. Even so, it appears there are 10-15 (on page 18 only), so my initial estimate was very low.I think the sample size is quite a bit larger if you look at the unique posters over the last 18 pages its actually quite a few and that doesn't count lurkers who would only post real news.
I interviewed with you and have not received that as well.I'll weigh in too...lurker #2....I think there are a bunch of us lurkers... I interviewed 2/6. Has anyone else interviewed and NOT received the deficiency email that people were talking about?

I interviewed 2/6 as well. Still waiting to hear back and checking this page feverishly to see if anyone else is getting the call.
EDIT: Also, I haven't gotten the deficiency email.
2/3? I thought they only did Fridays was that MSTP or something?2/3 here. No news no deficiency email.
I interviewed for MD on a Friday. Or at least I hope it was for MD. Although that would explain the lack of calls from them.2/3? I thought they only did Fridays was that MSTP or something?
We must've interviewed together on the 13th I am guessing since the 6th was the Friday before.I interviewed for MD on a Friday. Or at least I hope it was for MD. Although that would explain the lack of calls from them.
I thought they said at the 2/27 interview that calls would be made the week of the 9th, but maybe I am mistakenMostly a lurker but I'll add to the sample size. I interviewed 2/27 and was accepted the following Friday, 3/6. Good luck to everyone!
