2014-2015 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Coming up on three months with nothing (OOS, ties to NC). Any advice? Worth e-mailing admissions or should I just keep waiting?

Has anybody IS heard anything yet? They said 6-8 weeks at the interview--hopefully won't take that long.

Nothing yet. It looks like in previous years there were a handful in October, then a bunch of acceptance calls in early November. I'm anxious but I think I can hold off until late November before I become fully neurotic

Unfortunately you probably have a lot more waiting to do. Last year I interviewed early September and didn't hear anything until April. I get the feeling that 6-8 weeks is more of the exception than the norm.

Damn, that's really annoying.

Anyone else receive the financial aid-FAFSA notification post-interview? HOPING this is a sign that I got in!?... most likely not though haha

Anyone know when the admissions committee meets?

Has anyone else who has interviewed already heard back yet??

I missed a call from a chapel hill clinic... Called back but just reached a receptionist! Now I'm just impatiently staring at my phone...

Edit 2.5 hours later, I think the adrenaline rush has finally worn off...

Edit 5.5 hours later, no call yet, maybe it was a mistake, oh how I wish I had just run out of the seminar and taken the call

Edit 25 hours of anxious waiting later, ACCEPTED!!!

Is today the day?

I wonder if some of us will get decisions so soon. My interview was just a few weeks ago so I doubt I will be hearing from them for a while. Did you guys interview in August/September?

Yes, I interviewed early September.

I got my acceptance call on Monday from one of the people I interviewed with.

Got a call earlier today, ACCEPTED!!! Interviewed late september, instate, LizzyM 70-72.

Called yesterday 10-31-14 (halloween!) to check on status, receptionist said "unfortunately, a decision was made to not offer you an interview", then I received the rejection email 5 minutes later.

~65 LizzyM reapp.. kind of surprised as I heavily improved from last year

I'm sorry 🙁

I think we're at eight weeks since the first interview day.
Was the first day 9/8? I thought it was 9/1 because I remember trying to schedule my interview and 9/8 wasn't the first date?

Received the supplemental application just now!! I got the "AMCAS application received" email over three months ago...(8/4! haha). I had definitely given up on receiving the secondary, so there is hope for anyone else still waiting 🙂
Congrats to all who have been accepted!!
(Oh and I'm IS, numbers a little under their average)

Congrats! When were you complete? Are you a reapplication by chance?

Thanks 🙂 I was complete near the end of October, I'm not sure of the exact date. I had waited for the secondary for quite some time. And I'm a first time applicant.

Any news? I thought the committee met today!?
