Anyone know when the next decision day is?
We think it'll be this coming Monday.Anyone know when the next decision day is?
Im pretty sure it is AdCom dependent...some of them call, others leave it to snail mail to send you the joyful news. But email is the preferred method for the not-so-joyful news :/They typically call on Monday evenings, but calls have been made throughout the week. Releasing acceptances via phone is a personal touch that Carolina has placed on the admissions process. However, some applicants have been notified by an acceptance packet in the mail (sent to all accepted applicants) without ever receiving a phone call. Other admission decisions such as wait list and rejection are typically communicated by e-mail.
This is only my understanding of UNC's process. Please chime in if you have differing experience or knowledge.
I'M WITH YOU ughhh so frustrating.Nothing here. I got a different acceptance today I'm thrilled about, so it doesn't hurt quite as much as in past weeks, but I'm still hoping for some in-state love! Been 18 weeks now :/
Has anyone who interviewed with Dr. Falk been accepted? I interviewed in late September, IS, May 2014 graduate with 4.0 and 31 MCAT.
Interviewed today! Joni reassured us that there are still spots available...and she thinks two more AdCom meetings 🙂
Whoah, if the every-other-week schedule is the opposite of what we've been assuming, then that puts my 8 PM "No Caller ID" call last Monday in a whole new light...Your friend might be right since it looks like no one (on sdn) got the call this past Monday?![]()
I did some snooping around in the previous threads too. Looks like they meet the first two weeks of March and try to get all acceptances in by the 15th. To be fair though that's strictly just speculation. As a re-applicant the previous posts seemed somewhat familiar to me so I took a look back at last years thread. The past couple years the committee hasn't met in the second half of February, they took a hiatus until interviews finished and met twice in March. So I'm assuming they did the same thing this year, for what it's worth.
Hey, I interviewed same day as you. Good luck!! I thought everyone who interviewed with me was pretty awesome so I hope we all get calls soon! haInterviewed today! Joni reassured us that there are still spots available...and she thinks two more AdCom meetings 🙂
Maybe today will be the day?
I've got everything crossed for all of us today! May the 19 week wait end tonight.Maybe today will be the day?
My feelings precisely...........![]()
5 Months of Committee Meeting Mondays!
I cycle through these two feels... everything quiet on my end.![]()
I also considered this gif.
As mentioned numerous times in this thread, they sometimes call you in the evening on Monday. Sometimes they'll call you on another day of that week. And sometimes, you'll just receive a letter in the mail with no phone call. In other words, you should go study.Anyone know what time they typically call at? Gotta study but all I can do is check my phone and refresh this page.
Around now, unfortunately...Anyone know what time they typically call at? Gotta study but all I can do is check my phone and refresh this page.
hmm interesting. so nobody heard a thing tonight?Last year there weren't any acceptances reported from the first March meeting anyways, the only reason people knew they met was because a few rejections went out. Its possible they use the first meeting to narrow down the pool and spend a little time talking about the most competitive remaining applicants, and then they make the final acceptance decisions at the meeting the following week.
Don't. They mean nothing.Anyone else using the FAFSA emails as an indication as their status?
Are there any MS1 students browsing this thread who can explain what the first-year schedule is like? For example, what does a typical week look like for you? Including things like when you have class (8am? 9am?), what sessions are required vs. not required, how often you have tests, when are the clinical experiences, when you have free time. I apologize if this has already been asked (if it has, can anyone direct me to the answer?). I'm just curious about how the day-to-day experience is. I think I may have zoned out when people told me about the details earlier because I was too nervous...
Do you think they sent out acceptances this week? Seems that is nobody on here got a call then it is unlikely.Well here's to hoping there are some letters in the mail for all of us today...
