2014-2015 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats to the people who got accepted tonight, though I was really gunning for those of us who have been in this thread week after week waiting to hear something. Even if we get waitlisted, it seems like from last year's thread people were getting off the waitlist less than a month after being put on it. Good luck all!!

Oops UNC 2019! Feb 10 with with Dr. Rustioni who called (Also with Hamrick). Both 3.86/32.

Thanks! Congrats- are you a re applicant? I interviewed on the same day with similar stats, but my interview did not go as planned.

I'm not a reapplicant, and i think there is one more time before they start announcing the waitlist!

Any reapplicants get in lately? Anyone have Dr. Passannante as their adcom?

Do you have reason to believe this? Or are you just speculating based on the amount of Mondays left before April?

I'm curious if anyone was accepted/received a phone call from Dr. Brice as their adcom. I'm currently in a different state and won't get my mail until the end of may.

Guys, I don't mean to sound blunt, but for us who haven't heard any news yet, we are either rejected or waitlisted.

They must make a number of offers equal to the number of seats by March 15. There are no more Mondays until then. And based on last few years threads, it's all waitlisted or rejections after that.

Also, i think movement off the waitlist depends on your gender and race. For example, if you are a black male, another black male must decline the seat for you to get in.

Probably true. Last year I believe that the midway through March acceptance was the final big one, so if we don't hear anything this week, we probably weren't accepted.

Eh.

To remain on the optimistic side, calls can be made throughout the week or packets can be received weeks later. Don't give yourself an admission status, let UNC do that.

Heads up everyone!

Thanks, PreMed9242... good point!

Out of selfish and frustrated curiosity, who has been waiting here the longest? I am October 1. (161 days)

Don't lose hope - I interviewed in October as well before getting the call last night. It is brutal watching people who interviewed a month ago get in, but I am proof that you are still under consideration after 5 months.

Congrats. Would you mind sharing your stats/adcom/reapplicant?

Has anyone that's been accepted/is in state not submitted the residency form yet?

Did you just get your call or was your call on Monday? And can you provide interview date / adcom info? Thanks,

ayyyyyyy got that call #UNC2019

Don't lose hope yall!!!!!

ALSO - does anyone know when second look is? Waiting for snail mail is too hard.
Second look is on the 28th...Mrs Reid will likely email you the details on it. The original notification for that went out a bit ago.

IS Reapp with Dr. Bright, no news

If anyone who has gotten the call would like to feed my paranoia, I have a question for you. I missed a call around 11 this morning, and I'm hesitant to assume it's from my adcom because it was not a UNC number (i.e., it didn't start w/966-, 962-, or 843-). Do you all know if they generally make the calls from personal/cell phones, or were you able to tell?

Another Bashford app here.
