My email said that they would be done by today, Friday, and I still haven't gotten mine yet.
 
How have people been notifying admissions of their withdrawal? Just an email? (Also, good luck to all you waitlisters--I hope this spot goes to one of you)
 
Withdrew from Keck months ago, but they still sent me a finaid package? >___> Unsurprisingly, it was all loans. Don't know why Keck likes to assume that we have some kind of secret cache of gold bullion.

Good luck to all those trying to work their financials out! 🙁

Yeah, I just emailed the medadmit address. But I haven't gotten a confirmation yet, so no guarantee that that's correct
 
Silly question but still looking for advice--
For the LOI, the wording in the alternate list email says "AFTER April 30, 2015." Does that mean email them the LOI starting today or starting tomorrow?

Based on that wording alone, I'd guess that they don't want them until tomorrow, since May 1 is the first day after April 30. But good luck with whichever you choose to do!

Honestly I'm inclined to agree with you. I was just worried it might somehow be considered "late." I think I'll send mine tomorrow.

Deciding whether it's worth applying.

At the end of the day, you only live once. Make the most of it and apply wherever you'd be happy, because money will work itself out when you're a doctor. Regret, on the other hand, is not something you can pay back in monthly payments.

Apply. You never know.
I just received a full-tuitoin scholarship a few days ago and I really thought I was out of the running. I just am a firm believer of 'you never know until you try'. I think it's worth applying because Keck is an awesome school and honestly I couldn't see myself anywhere else now.
 
There was no deposit we had to put down to secure our acceptance, right?

Thanks. And there was nothing we had to do to confirm our acceptance other than to log on to the portal and sign that page when we were originally accepted, right?
 
I called admissions yesterday and they said there's been no movement on the alternate list. The class is full as of now.

Yep! As long as you didn't withdraw from the school, they assume that you are planning to matriculate. Have you been getting all the emails about orientation, schedule of classes, etc.?

Yes, I have been. I'm just be ultra-neurotic because I'm re-reading the acceptance confirmation email, and it says something about confirming only one acceptance. I just wanted to make sure that doesn't involve anything than signing the page when we were accepted and pulling out of other schools by april 30.

Haha well don't worry! If you haven't withdrawn by now, then you are matriculating here next year (unless you're on any waitlists, but even then you don't have to send anything additional).
 
Is there a deadline for applying for the loans they offered?

They have links from the Financial Aid website on how to apply for the federal loans, it sounded like we just have to request them by the end of the month. I'm not sure how long the whole process takes though!
 
Hey guys, long-time lurker on this thread. Congratulations to everyone with Keck acceptances! At this point, is it likely that there's not going to be any movement off the alternate list?

Uhhhhhhgggg I would also like to know. I called a few days ago and they said the class is still full/no wait-list movement. They're waiting to see if anyone will withdraw their acceptances.
 
My WL spot got vacated this morning around 10AM Pacific. Best of luck to those still hoping!

I got my spot vacated today. They said the incoming class is filled. Looks like they didn't use their WL at all. At the interview they said they would be using the WL this year. I guess there was a change of plans.
 
I'm still on the alternate list...why are they stringing me along for so long?

Edit: Never mind, they finally vacated me. :'(

Same. Was deposited into my bank account this morning.
