What are the chances of an interview in Spanish here? Anybody heard of that happening? Do they inform us of who we will be interviewing with beforehand?
You can email Dr. Jones and ask. SA is more hispanic-rich than almost any city in TX and any of the MDs that interview you will be fairly fluent in spanish. Not sure about the PhD faculty though.

I'll be there on Monday too. Any fellow Horned Frogs?
I look forward to hearing your experience, based in the detailed and interesting response to your UTH interview. Thanks for keeping us informed as we look forward to our own interviews. 🙂

It seems like U Texas invites out of state applicants from the South/Southwest. I am surprised, being from Washington state, that I received an interview. Surprised, but very very excited 🙂

Any other out of region interview invites? Maybe my assumption is wrong.

mee northeast!

Awesome school! Very very impressed. The medical campus is huge, with so many hospitals. The faculty and students are so down to earth and friendly. I am also impressed that you can stay ALL four years in San Antonio. This seems better to me than some schools where you are moving around like crazy third and fourth year. The cost of living, crime, and traffic are low thanks to the school being located away from the center of town. Feel free to message me with any questions.

I'm a fan as well.

Sorry now I see that you posted it already. Wow, that is soon! How many days did you have available? I only had two in Jan available. I picked Jan 5. 🙂

Yeah, I don't know how I got an interview date so soon! I had one Oct date and two Dec dates to choose from. Weird how you didn't have that option

Dang I'm jealous! I got an interview September 23 and there weren't any available dates until December 1st 🙁

So the course requirements state:

BIOLOGY: Two years as required for science majors, one year with formal laboratory experience (minimum of 14 semester hours, or 12 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab).

If your a non-science major... do you still need 14 credits? I don't know any other schools that requires 2 years of bio... Someone please clarify?

All TMDSAS schools require 14 hours of bio for everyone.

FML. at least Biochem counts toward this req.

So can you get accepted and take the bio course the summer before coming? Or they flat out won't accept you without it?

I believe you have until you matriculate. But I think orientation begins in july, so taking it in the summer might be cutting it close?

First OOS II! Only had 2 January dates to pick from. I ended up with the later one. Is it bad to have such a late interview in the year? I transmitted on 9/24

Yeah, I would prob take it online or at a CC in the spring. Sh** I really hope this wont sway their acceptance decision, interviewed yesterday from NY and everything went really well.

Haha yeahh, I think I'm like 1 semester credit short too xD. The pains of not being a science major..

So did you have on your TMDSAS that you are planning on taking it? Because my application has no mention of my plans to complete the coursework

I didn't mention it. When I asked admissions, I was told it would be fine to hold off until hearing back before taking an extra class. I didn't really feel any indications that it would negatively impact my app. Hopefully that is the case.

Ok that makes me feel much better. I almost flipped out before. I'll call admissions just to confirm as soon as I land lol

Your stat if you don't mind, please.

Soooo I guess this means San Antonio is almost out of interview dates?

Does anyone know how quickly the school gets back to out of state students about an acceptance?
