Adding again to the list complete 7/11. Silence. We should schedule a mass panic for around 1900 on Friday, Aug 1st for those of us verified 3 weeks ago. We could lob watermelon, have breakdowns, maybe get some people baker acted (or w/e you call getting forcefully admitted to a psychiatric facility in Virginia). Maybe they will feel bad when they see the news and update our status....

The best ideas always sound crazy at first... Just look at apple with their foolish handheld music box with a half eaten apple on it (Really, who wants a half eaten piece of fruit on their electronics?). Or Zephyrhills with their bottled water. Why would I pay for water that I could get for free from springs? The world is full of revolutionary ideas, we just need to find our own!

Hey what exactly do you guys mean "complete status"? On my application under status I have a green checkmark for the "secondary app package complete," is that w hat you guys are talking about with regards to being complete?

Haha so I submitted on 7/21 I don't even think I am complete yet. On the website under status I have green checkmarks under every section, but I don't think this means I am completed? Only email I have received was that I submitted.

Essentially I am asking how do you know when you are complete?

Did you receive an email from them saying they received your primary? They don't give secondaries to everyone so they are probably still reviewing your app. I got a secondary like 5 days after they said they were reviewing my primary

ya seems to be a pretty consistent trend that i'm noticing here and from last year and the year before last year's threads (really bored at work yesterday) but only for IS and I only looked at July/August timeframe. looks like IS people get II in 3 days- 1 week after further. let me know if you hear because I got further Monday!

I don't think they are reviewing files based on when you were complete. at least based on the pattern I'm seeing so i guess for those of us with nothing yet, it might mean they have no idea what to do with us yet, or we may be backup plan for when they are done giving people status 🙁 I'll just stop obsessively checking my status and take my depressed butt to class🙁

I looked at last year's thread and it looked like a lot of oos people who were complete in July got statuses later in august.. But still got interviews. I didn't look through that far, though, so I'm not entirely sure

I submitted 7/14 and I'm IS, and I still have the "complete message." No status change since. Actually, I never got an email that said my status changed to complete either after I submitted...is that normal?

We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. So what does that mean?

Ah sweet lord almighty – a status change! I was complete back on 7/11 and have been checking their portal on a daily basis... my heart was pounding away as I typed in my login info. Got what I think is status #1?

The Committee's file review indicates that they are very interested in your candidacy. There is another increase in the applicant pool this year, but we are trying to get all candidates at your priority score interviewed as soon as possible if we have an adequate number of interview slots. Please anticipate an e-mail from us regarding a possible interview date.

Don't know if it's a guaranteed interview, but I'm hopeful. Hope everyone who has been waiting gets an update today!

I had the exact same. "Further" status on Sunday and today I got the interview invite! Also IS. Looks like I'll be in Richmond on Sept 15!!

Just be patient, easier said than done, I know, but all of us are waiting for some sort of update

Hey everyone; I interviewed here last cycle but was ultimately rejected. Here are some stuff I remembered and thoughts; Hope it helps.

VCU does II in a weird way. There are various "statuses" you will get in your portal. Below, I have ranked the statuses of what I believe are the rankings of whether or not you will get an II:

1. Interview Invite status
2. Will likely receive interview invite status
3. May receive interview invite status
4. Further consideration status
5. Somewhere along the lines of you probably won't receive II status
6. Rejected pre-II status

I think most people receive either the "may" or "further" status. I believe @music2doc said that a "may" status has a really good chance to get an II. I had the "may" status for about a month before I got my II.

The school of medicine seemed pretty nice and Richmond is OK (not extremely urban) but it has some dilapidated areas.

They will send you an email when your "status changes" but be patient you'll get one soon!!
