Complete 7/8. Got this status change yesterday evening:

"The committee's file review indicates that they are interested in your candidacy. However, due to the increase in the applicant pool this year, it is clear we MAY be unable to interview all the candidates at your priority score. If we do find that we are unable to grant an interview, you will be notified by e-mail in March."

Gotta love that bolded MAY...
 
I'm not sure what status everyone is referring to. When I originally click on the status link from the email VCU sent, I get sent directly to an "Application Status" that says my "MD file is now complete. The ADCOM will do a comprehensive review..." But then when I click on the file status tab on the top left, it says File Status: COMPLETE. I was complete on 7/11 too and I haven't seen anything updated since.

I am and I interviewed here last time but was waitlisted. Also significant changes in my application and have not had a status update yet. Complete on 7/12 I think.
 
Everybody getting invites is making me nervous =( Submitted on 7/9 but still have the reviewing message...

Quick question: are they already on their December interview dates or was that just the month that you wanted?

I was given their "very interested" status this week, but going off of this and last year's threads, I think it'll be a week or two before I hear anything else. And so we wait.

Yeah it makes me confused how they prioritize interviews based on completion date :/

I've been complete since 07/11 and I haven't heard a thing. My stats are comparable to some of those who have received IIs. I just don't get it.:shrug:

This process is utterly bizarre. There were some people rejected here right off the bat with wonderful stats. 🙁

I'm assuming they're going through apps via our "priority score" rather than by completion dates – and who knows how they calculate those. Hopefully you get a status change straight to an II soon!
 
The earliest date I saw was in December as well. They must offer interview dates in correlation with our priority score?

Yeah I've been complete since the 10th... I don't understand how some people get multiple updates within a week while others get silence. Especially since current scores include rejections...
 
How long did it take for VCU to show that letters have been received after designating lettings on AMCAS for VCU?
 
II! Complete 7/19, OOS with "further" status last Thursday. Couldn't get an interview date until January though.
 
Wow January 😵 that's really late. Does that mean they're almost done handing out IIs :O

Pretty sure they assign interview dates based on priority score. I'm sure they're nowhere near done handing out IIs

Oo so you think people with higher priority scores (not to say your's is low!) will still have dates before January available to them? From what I can remember when i scheduled my interview was that you could choose any date you want, right? Or did I have a set window... I forget...

That's what I gathered from obsessively scouring last years thread. Some people who got an II in September could choose interview dates in October while some who got an II in August could only choose from January to later. The only options available to me were January and February. Not complaining though, just thankful to get an interview

They probably want a mesh up of Nontrads/OOSers/ISers on certain interview days-- or the exact opposite, Nontrad interviews only one day, OOS only, IS only, rural medicine, etc. Who can know for sure ?!

This actually seems plausible, my interview is on Dec 2nd, and I'm OOS

Imagine that you are a family physician and are seeing a 15 year old girl for menstrual cramps. Her mother has accompanied her for this visit. When you examine the patient without her mother present, she tells you that she is sexually active. She begs you not to tell her mother because of her family’s strong values against teen sex. Discuss your next steps." Thank you in advance.

OOS here that can be added to the list of 'secondary submitted early July and no change in status' 🙁. I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but I'm not optimistic.

Yes, I believe that is the correct prompt, with a 2000 character limit. At the beginning of the secondary process a different prompt was still posted (from last year) which caused some confusion.
 
I submitted 7/23 and I am IS. Hoping I hear something back soon! =]

It almost seems like they're giving all the IS ppl priority at the moment. It seems like OOS ppl aren't really getting updates except a few rejections. So up til this point no update is a good thing, at least better than a rejection lol
 
Just went from the "comprehensive review" status to "Your file is complete, and has been forwarded to the Admissions Committee for further decision". I guess something happened lol
 
Just got notified I will not be getting a secondary... 🙁

Maybe all of us that have been waiting for 3 and a half weeks will finally hear something! I'd be annoyed if there weren't any interview seats left 😉
 
I asked this earlier, but I didn't get any responses. For the essay, was yours just a large clump of text? I had trouble understanding the format instructions, but they made it sound like it would be non-formatted (no paragraph breaks) no matter what, correct?

Maybe someone is working hard because tomorrow is the first years' first day, so they said they're going to be slammed with that tomorrow.
