II from Yale today...casually hiding my spam. Gmail is trying to sabotage me.

Just checked my spam folder... darn it, there's still nothing there!🙁

Anyway, congrats! When were you complete?

Has anyone already attended their interview? If so what'd you think

It's going to be subjective based on who you ask because we all get different interviewers. That being said my first interview (morning) was very conversational, but very much focused on getting to know me, why I want to go to Yale, and my motivations to get into medicine. The second interview (afternoon) was more focused on my application. It seemed that my interviewer hadn't read it beforehand.

Yale is amazing by the way

I hate to be this person, but when were you lucky ones complete? Congratulations by the way!

Any tips on the best way to get to/stay in New Haven without going bankrupt. I'm coming from Texas. Their website suggests flying to Hartford and taking a shuttle, I'm wondering if this is a popular route

Very popular! Another possibly cheaper (yet definitely more adventurous) option is to fly into JFK and take the Metro North commuter train up to New Haven.

I wish one day I'll have the same problem as you are having right now. Going bankrupt for Yale might be worth it. Although I'm not sure what would a bankruptcy record would do to applying for board certification though...

Does Yale send you an email when you are complete? Or is your application complete when that green checkmark shows up at the end of your secondary app when everything is marked received?

They do send complete emails! I think the email coincided with getting all green checkmarks though. I submitted my secondary on a late Friday evening so I did not get the complete email until the following Monday during typical business hours.

Flying to NYC is definitely an option. The Metro North commuter train starts at Grand Central (or Harlem 125th St if you're flying to LaGuardia, as there's a public bus that takes you to that train station directly), and the route ends at New Haven. It takes about 2 hours to go from Grand Central to the New Haven stop however.

Oh wow I did receive that email.. I must've been sleep-typing or something.

I was complete 9/14.. sort of late but I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best 😛

I was not complete until 9/1 (needed to wait to get paid!) so I can somewhat feel your pain! It seems like the II this past week were from the last week of August...Good luck!

On the website, it reads, "Applicants to the MD Program who are invited for an interview will meet with two members of the MD Program Committee on Admissions." Who usually interviews the applicants, faculty members, admissions staff, or students?

you will get at least one faculty member, and the second will either be a faculty member or a upper year student

Chiming in even though not applying this cycle. One of my favorite schools to visit; got family in the area).

Did we do food recs yet for the dirty Have? Anyone try the food carts parked all over Cedar St for lunch yet?

Yale was pretty low on my list before my interview, just because I was pretty afraid it would be too unstructured for my learning style. My visit really changed my mind. This place skyrocketed to the top of my list. Students are SO happy and yet still perform amazingly. And the dorms are not half bad looking!

I added Yale to my AMCAS and was confirmed on October 3, but have yet to receive the secondary application information. Has anyone else had this issue? I have checked my junk box and it isn't there, either. How long should I wait to contact them?

I think mine took a month-ish to be received, but they were dealing with a lot of applications at that time. I'd wait a week (maybe two max) and then give them a call so you can get your secondary in as soon as possible. Just my two cents though, other opinions?

Thank you for the info. Glad to know that it isn't just me. I would hate to bother them for something trivial when they are swamped with other things.
