I made the same mistake initially. Your plan sounds legit. Add in some more activities maybe and it may not be so obvious. Since it's not expressly in the instructions (only on the FAQ page if I remember correctly) i'm sure you'll be fine. I'd find it hard to believe that they'd toss someone's app out because they listed their activities in chronological (and in my opinion logical) order.

Does anyone know how Yale looks at non-traditional students? I'm a second year applicant and currently working toward my master's. Do you guys think it would increase my chance?

Yale's incoming class is about 70% non-trad

Still haven't gotten a secondary ... should I be worried? I thought Yale doesn't screen before secondaries?

They don't screen for a secondary. When were you verified? I received my secondary the day i was verified, July 9th. As the person above stated the interview invite is rolling thus i would get a move on figuring out what's going on. I've seen on other threads that some primaries were never received by the school.

second this. I got my secondary a few days after my primary was submitted, note, not verified, but submitted. If you read Yale's admission advice, it says they really do want your secondary in as early as possible, don't even wait for MCAT score. Call the office I'd advice. I guarantee you that no matter who you talk to, he/she will be super nice which seems to be the culture at Yale. I had to call them for something else, the dean Silverman picked up the phone in person and chatted with me about my app even after my issue was resolved.
 
Have you guys heard anything back from Yale? Any IIs?

I know these posts are old, but I figured if anyone else is browsing through these threads that hasn't started on these might appreciate some info. I got my MSTP secondary 7/10.

Additional MSTP prompts:

M.D. Ph.D Statement Write a statement (approximately 500 words) concerning:

· Your reasons for wishing to undertake the combined MD/PhD program, rather than the MD program alone.
· The specific PhD program that you propose to follow at Yale.
· The strengths and weaknesses of your preparation for graduate study in your proposed PhD field.


Please list any original work published or submitted for publication. At this time, there is no need to submit copies unless requested.

Is it not common practice? I thought that's what Yale does usually? No?
 
I just realized this but Yale requires biochem lab too! I've never taken the biochem lab because it was only open to biochem majors. Am I completely screwed?

Are you sure about that? According to their website you don't need biochem lab, only 1 semester/quarter:

"Beginning with the 2014-15 admissions season, one semester of biochemistry has been added to Yale's traditional course requirements"
