Does anyone know anything about the WL here? When they typically start WL movement, how big it is, and how many get in from the WL? They probably won't tell you where on the WL you are, right?

They typically don't give any indication about your position on the wait list.
Historically there's a lot of movement from FIU's WL... apart from last year.... unsure if this will be a new trend vs. an anomaly

Any character or word limit? I still haven't received any word after the acceptance email.... Should I give them a call?

One page 12 pt font. It depends on when you got your acceptance...if it was recently then you might want to wait..
 
Just submitted my first update last night. Hopefully this will take off my pre-II hold and give me an interview 🙂 Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back!
 
Do they do pre-interview rejections? If you have the initial review complete status does that mean they are actually still considering you?
 
I've been at "preliminary review complete" for 3 months...
 
Does anyone have any suggestions on where would be the cheapest place to stay? I'm OOS. Thanks

Avoid the 109 tower (noisy and expensive). Try looking west of FIU or around Fountainbleau. Unfortunately miami and cheap dont go hand in hand

Has anyone been rejected post-interview or have the responses been mostly accepted/waitlist? Just curious 🙂 -anxious post-interviewee

Last year, the list barely moved (less than 10 people), but--in the past--there has been a substantial number of class seats offered to those in good waitlist position. Good luck!

I believe they don't reject post interview but don't quote me on that

They do (at least they did last year), but they're fairly selective for the interview. Also, most people don't jump at the opportunity to post about their rejection -- just because we don't hear about it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened, I suppose.

Longtime lurker here...So I'm supposed to be hearing back this week. My status update has changed to "Admissions Committee Review Completed" as of noon today and I'm on the mountains w/ no cell-phone service!!! My anxiety is drastically growing.:xf:
 
I'm assuming calls are going out today? I only ask because in last year's thread, some people got off the wait list in December/January....a guy can wish
 
I've been preliminary review complete since 10/20. Hoping for some love from FIU soon
 
Completed secondary early November, oos mcat 507 and 3.9. It says preliminary review complete the 13th, anyone in the same boat? Or know when you hear back after preliminary review?

Have had that status since the beginning of October. I have comparable stats and nothing yet. Some people have gotten an ii right after getting the "secondary complete" status, hence never getting the "prelim review" status. Others get the ii right after the "prelim review" status. And others like ourselves seem to be caught in no man's land

Right there with you Johnyellow. Preliminary review complete since October.
 
Seems like a slow year, no? I feel like, once per month, this thread would light up with acceptances. This year, we had one person vouch for acceptance from the last admissions meeting; maybe 2 or 3 in previous intervals.

I wonder if they're still refining the process? Last year, they overhauled their admission protocol (which is why the waitlist didn't move -- new admin with a new algorithm for seating), and I suppose that it's within the realm of possibility that they're being more meticulous for acceptance (seems like the waitlist is quite large already -- lots of people).

Last time i checked, the FB group for HWCOM c/o 2020 had hit 215 members. They might take it slow from here until end of April, when its time to make a seat deposit

Those of you who have RSVPd for Welcome Back, did you receive any confirmation upon registering and/or details regarding the timings etc?
 
Other than checking the app status on the portal, has anyone had any issues calling to check on their status pre-II? Mine's been sitting at Preliminary Review Completed for 4 months now :/ Is this a bad sign/does the school do silent rejections?
