Has anyone else been put on hold post-interview? Just got a letter saying my application is on hold after interviewing on 9/24. What does that even mean?? Pretty upset as this was one of my top choices :/ I can't believe I did not even make the waitlist at this point...

USUHS doesn't waitlist while any spots remain open so it doesn't quite mean what you think. Because of federal funding USUHS cannot over accept. As a result their waitlist is often like an extended acceptance list. Often people on hold move to the waitlist once acceptances are full and then the waitlist moves as people drop acceptances. Check out previous year's threads but I know of at least 2 people personally who interviewed early, were placed on hold, then moved to waitlist in December and January and were accepted in March and April.

Does anybody know what happens if you have to get medical waivers or an additional appointment? Do you still get a conditional acceptance, or do they put your application on hold?

Conditional acceptance unless they have a reason to think you're not going to pass it.

The bottom line is that the ADCOM is delaying a final decision until they've seen more of the interviewing applicants. It's almost like a waitlist at other schools, you're probably good enough but they want to be sure before they make the call.

That's my speculative view, anyways. The important takeaway is that you're still in the fight.

Me too @medmod, don't feel alone! We have to be thankful we are still in it, and definitely do everything we can to keep improving that app and give ourselves the best chance!

Did you guys send a thank you note to the student interviewer as well as the faculty interviewer?

How do you go about doing this, and is it a good idea?
It really depends on the school. Some you are told specifically not to do it, and with others it's almost suicide not to do it haha. But you'd need to get their contact info to do it. Usually before you leave from the interview day.

I sent one to the faculty interviewer. I got his information from the usuhs website. I forgot to get info from my student interviewer so I don't know how to send one to her.

Sending an update this week. Still silence from usuhs

I sent a quick email to the student interviewer. Wasn't sure how to get a hold of my other interviewer. He was retired.

To answer your the general question, you are allowed to write a thank you note. I did not have a student interview me, but I would still write a thank you note. Even if you did not obtain their contact information, you can send the thank you note to your admissions counselor and he/she will forward it to your interviewer.

In regards to timing, I did both of mine within a day, so if you are interested in sending thank you notes, try to get them sent as soon as possible after your interview. Of course, make them unique based on what you discussed during your interview.

I interview next week. Will be getting any more info on how to get to where I need to be in the morning. I haven't heard back about a student host, so I don't know if I can rely on that.

Got a reviewed favorably letter today in response to me sending an update.

Your best bet is to make a cancel-able hotel reservation. Often you hear back from student host programs only a couple of days before the interview.

I will probably do that in the next couple of days. I also emailed them about my base access because they haven't informed me whether or not it was approved yet, and in their II email it says that I would be notified when it gets approved.

Does anyone know what time the interviews at USUHS start at? I'm interviewing tomorrow and could've sworn I read 8:00 am somewhere, but I can't find anything to verify that now that I'm reading through my emails again.
The day starts at 8am but you won't know when your actual interview is until you get there and they publish the schedule.

Check in time is from 7:30-7:45am and it starts at 8am. I'm interviewing tomorrow too! Are you going to the informal dinner tonight?

Does anybody know how grading works during pre-clinical and clinical years?

I was over the weight requirement when I got my physical, but when I checked my dodmerb status it says I'm "qualified". Does this mean that I'm good to go and do not need to get taped or anything? Thanks!

I believe by the time you are commissioned as an officer you will need to make the weight requirement

Last II was October 1st? Is this correct?
That's the last date that anybody announced an II in this thread, but I'm guessing there have been some later II to people who don't post here.

I received an II yesterday (Nov 4). I was complete the first week of September.

I was hoping someone could help me out; does anyone have an example LOA that I could use or know where I could find one? My last day on active duty is in two days and I'd like to have my letter drafted up for my new CO to sign when I have my first drill in the next few weeks, and hopefully before my interview on Dec 3rd.

Has anyone been accepted who hasn't finished their undergrad yet? It's been 7 weeks since my interview but I wonder if their waiting to see my final grades.

Rejected pre-interview MCAT 32 uGPA 3.81 Was hoping to go to this school maybe... :\ buuuut I guess I better look into the HPSP program instead...

No. They aren't going to wait until summer for people graduating in June. If it's been 7 weeks, I'm sure you'll hear something real soon.

Got the call today!!!! I am soooo excited! I interviewed on 9/17. I will definitely accept and can't wait to see you all next summer .Army.

Congrats! Accepted Air Force here. Excited to meet you and all others as well.

USUHS will contact you at some point soon to give you instructions for getting taped, most likely at a recruiting station.

The "Notice to Military Applicants" sheet on their website has the contact info for each branch. Mine was Ms. Louise Taylor and she emailed me a format. Just got it signed a couple days ago!

Does anybody know whether or not airforce or army have filled? Still waiting on my post interview decision and I think I've got about 2 weeks left

I interviewed 10/29 and LTC Seigual said we were basically interviewing for the wait list at that point. However, wait list at this school is still an amazing thing with a LOT of movement each year. Don't give up hope!

I don't know what service but if you're navy the process takes roughly 4-5 months. All others are quicker though.

He told that to us as well on 10/15, but it is coming up on the time that he said we can start to expect to hear from them and it looks like they're not full yet....I'm just hopeful to not have to wait until the big movement in the wait list next year so I can avoid some interview expenses. Until I hear that the branches are full I'll stay optimistic about that possibility

This is about on pace for last year as well. I interviewed October 23rd and we were interviewing for waitlist then as well.

I saw someone say they expected to hear 2-3 weeks after interview though. It was much longer last year and I've heard it's the same now.

will I be rejected from here soon? under review since early july

hey has anyone who interviewed on 10/29 heard back yet?
The email we received right before the interview said October interviews may hear back in 4-6 weeks. Hopefully you hear back sooner than that though. I do wish I had asked admissions more about the post interview process i.e. When interviewers meet etc
