Does anyone who has interviewed already remember the speech Dean Peterson gave about if you're waitlisted/what their process is? I remember it going something like "Don't freak out, but we won't contact you again until after April 30 (?I think..I don't remember the date actually)." Then she sends emails to the wait-listed people and asks if they still want to be on the wait-list? During that time period, does anyone remember if they say they are receptive/like updates or is that only until after they've contacted you about wanting to remain on the wait-list?

Yes, she mentioned that at that time, an update would be appropriate.

Does anyone happen to know if UCI accepts a set number of students per adcom meeting? Like, they'll pick 15 favorites and waitlist the rest or something? Or is it more like sometimes they'll accept a lot, and sometimes a little depending on the group of students?

Found it yesterday too. It's under "how to apply" under admissions. They say its rolling acceptance starting Nov 1st.

Rolling means they just accept who they like and therefore earlier = slightly better?

The 'by' could mean on, or it could mean earlier. It's likely not later. I have a feeling last years applicants were given the same timeline, but their decisions came earlier.... it's hard to say haha

Oh you're right, I read your earlier post that said 10/24, but I dug through last year's thread and saw that they came on Saturday (10/25)... which means Halloween calls possibly?

Out of 569 people interviewed last cycle, 251 were accepted, and 104 matriculated. This comes out to roughly 44% accepted after interviewing. I would imagine this varies slightly by year too.
