Just some info for all of y'all from yesterday's interview. Yesterday was the last "formal interview" not too sure what that implies. She said 140 or 150 (can't remember which) are currently accepted and she would like accept 30- 40 more essentially. 1/4 of the people at the last interview will be accepted. There were 40 people, so 10 will be accepted. If all of the previous dates were handed out their acceptances already then that means 30 will come from the waitlist by my math. If the prior dates acceptances were not all handed out then the number would obviously change (40 applicants each interview day 1/4 get in so 10 from each day).

Wow I was way off - I thought half the people on your interview day get accepted for some reason. Thanks for sharing!

I think it is 150. I interviewed yesterday as well. I'm not sure where you heard that only 1/4 of us will be accepted... From what I recall it was mentioned that they would like to extend 20 or 30 invitations, but nothing was said whether they'd come from the waitlist or each session. I might have misheard though. I also don't think there were 40 of us, it looked like roughly 30... Not saying you're wrong, just wondering where you got all this info from?

I was also there yesterday and heard something similar to @trailerparkjesus87 . 150 offers extended already. It was also stated that they typically extend 180 offers. She did not specify whether 180 was pre or post waitlist (i'm assuming that it is pre but I could be wrong). There were 40 people there yesterday. It was not stated that 1/4 of the offers would be made to yesterdays interviewees. It seems reasonable to infer that that the "~30 remaining spots" will be offered to to any of the applicants that have already interviewed but not heard back yet.

I'm relatively certain I heard her say "1/4 of you will get the call from me that you've been accepted" then she made a joke about hanging up on her. I wrote it down and circled it too. The rest, 3/4, go on the alternate list. But I'm not here to argue! It said 40 back either the email or interview instructions that every interview day has 40 people. I was just simply using that as an example since I didn't know how many people were there exactly.

Has anyone from the 2/8 interview group heard back yet? Or do you know when we are supposed to hear back?

I don't recall them saying at Monday's interview when we should expect to hear back. Does anyone happen to know?

Just got the email from Irvine giving me the ax pre-interview. Not totally shocked considering it's so late in the cycle, and definitely happy to at least know one way or the other. Good luck to the rest of you still in the running!

Also got rejected. Guess this confirms I'll officially be leaving CA for med school.

I just got rejected too. pre-II. 1 waitlist out of 40 schools. Feelsbadman.

Just got rejected pre-interview as well. On the bright side, that means no more missing work interviews.

Anyone know when the next adcom meeting is?

Anybody know how many students get off the waitlist usually?

New MSAR shows that UCI self reports that about 50-75 come off waitlist? I can't remember the actual number--maybe someone would like to double check it under Acceptance Information.

It's awfully quiet around here... and I think UCI is on spring break this week

Just got the alternate list interview 🙁

Interviewed late January, but still haven't heard back from the school. Do people send updates to schools post-interview? Also, anyone else in the same boat?

If one is on the waitlist, when is the theoretical last day they could hear back with a decision or is it possible to get accepted up until orientation week?

When do financial aid packages come out?

Anyone beginning to look for housing around the Irvine/Newport area yet?

I interviewed 3/7. On interview day, the Dean told us that we would hear within 4-5 weeks. Do people think we might hear tomorrow?

Possibly. The dean said that it would most likely be 5 weeks and not 4. Either way I'm nervous for tomorrow.

I'm guessing that if 2/22 interviewers have not heard back, us 3/7's won't hear until after they do 🙁

I know people who heard back as early as 3 weeks and as late as 6 weeks post-interview. I got the call 5-6 weeks post-interview whereas some people from my interview group were notified at the 4 week point. Not everyone who interviews on the same day will hear back on the same day.

Seems like there might be a delay due to spring break as well...

I was a 2/22 interviewee. Waitlisted almost two weeks ago.. Hope there's good movement this year. Love the school!

Seems like acceptances calls/waitlist emails come out Monday and Tuesday evenings. If you haven't heard back, you can assume no decision has been made on your file.

Have any more 2/22'ers received their decision yet? I checked my portal and it's still blank under admission status.

My guess is that the rest of the 2/22 interview group and possibly some or all of the 3/7 interview group (depending on how backed up admissions is) will hear back on 4/11 and 4/12. If you're accepted, you'll get the call first and your status on your portal will change within 24-48 hours after the call.

Can any current students speak to the grading basis here? Is it just pass/fail or are there certain levels (i.e. high pass, pass, etc)?
