Finally axed as well (post-secondary, pre-interview), complete early August. LizzyM ~ 77. Chances at getting out to Cali for med school slimming once more 🙁

Stats: LizzyM score= 66 ( high GPA <30 MCAT)

I'm in the same boat! Verified late August and just received a secondary. Shocked! I am also a non-trad applicant, LizzyM high 60s. Super surprised and so nervous now… an II here would be a dream.

From previous posts in this thread, it appears they are not particularly receptive to ITA emails, nor do they seem to have many spots (if any) remaining in December. However, this is all here-say (and actually I'm quite ignorant as I myself do not know), so it's feasible for you to call and ask. Perhaps it's worth a shot!

On our interview day they told us they would begin sending out acceptances starting in January, but who knows.

I feel like, regardless of receptivity, there's a good chance they wont be conducting interviews during that time. Between the holidays making faculty unavailable to give interviews, and students being gone for break, it just seems unlikely.

Winter break at UCSF (at least for MS1s) is 12/17 - 1/3, and I assume students aren't the only ones getting a break, so I agree with an earlier poster in that they probably don't have interviews during that time anyway. I'd just hold on.

They are. Dean Wofsy told us that acceptances will be rolling out mid to late December, and that those who interviewed early November would be able to hear back just before January.

Just my two cents but I was advised to apply here to see if I can get a secondary because as in previous years, it was an ok, early indicator of how well the cycle will go. I think this is no longer the case as they give out way more secondaries these days to mean anything. I hope they enjoyed my donation haha.

Yeah - at first I was very excited to receive one especially after a long wait - which made me think they decided there *was* a good reason to give me a chance. However, I am concerned also that their sudden increase number of secondaries this year may not be as "thoughtful" as one would hope.

Wait, does UCSF send out complete emails post secondary? I submitted the secondary a couple of weeks ago... forgot to wait for a complete email before starting to stress about the II/rejection timeframe.

I'm having a mini panic attack- Does anyone remember whether you can select multiple 'programs' in the "Program Select" page? If I selected the MD/JMP Program, am I still under consideration for the regular MD Program?

@ssgps You're fine! You can't remove yourself from consideration from the 4 year program.

@wagonwheel23 I saw earlier in the thread you got an II for JMP. (Congrats, btw!!) Just wondering, did you hear back from UCSF and JMP in the same email? I just got a rejection from UCSF but didn't hear anything about JMP. Trying to figure out if this means I'm de-facto rejected from that, too... Thanks!
