Do people really care about this+ 1, complete around the same time. At least the rejection letter was nicer/more considerate than most...

Sheesh, just curious, you must not be a morning person being so aggressive at 9 AM 😛Even if people did, why should you care enough to comment?
haha ok. Hope you have better luck with your other schools!!The ellipsis was my indication that wasn't a 100% serious statement. 🙂 But objectively it was a pretty kind letter.

kI've found that smart-mouthed people need to be called out once in a while, avgn, even at 8 in the morning. 😛
Best of luck, ifnotnowwren!
Omg I know one of the admins in that group!! lolIt looks like there is already a facebook group for the class of 2020!!!!!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/473231739515799/
Mid October interview and they said we would hear early-mid JanuaryAnyone who interviewed mid/late November recall when we could potentially hear back?
Agreed! I interviewed mid-November and was so optimistic that I'd hear back by now, but alas...no reply yet!The post-II wait is brutal...
nope, I recall them saying not toDid y'all send in thank-you notes? 😕
Did they mean no thank you notes to just interviewers or everyone?nope, I recall them saying not to
Interviewers strictly prohibited but general ones are okay. However nothing is read at all until May so they just say it's really unnecessary because no one cares at allDid they mean no thank you notes to just interviewers or everyone?
Interviewed here this week and Dean Wofsy said they just finished handing out the last interviews. So it looks like it's over for those who have not heard back yet. They interview through early March. Good luck everyone
OH and regarding decisions this is what they said. One more batch in end Jan, 2 batches each in Feb, March, April. Jan folks like me should expect March, so count the math backwards as you see fit
The others are speculation no doubt, but this is actually what we were told almost verbatim by the dean in the morning so take it to mean what you will. Not sure if they've sent out the last IIs yet but he very clearly said they already held the last meeting where they decided who to fill up to the March slots. Maybe you should read more carefully what I'm saying instead of assuming that I'm just doing the same thing across different threads. I'm not. You're likely right that few, if any, interviews will be extended this late in the cycle at any school, but I find it interesting you seem to restate "it's over" in virtually every thread, as though you get enjoyment from it or something. Just take it easy and try to cultivate a softer touch. I'm not saying you're wrong or unjustified, but that you tend to be a tad "on the nose" if you will. I hope you enjoyed UCSF-- it's a delightful institution.

Bedside manner u srs? It's not like I said people suck or anything. Ignore what I say if it bothers you so, I'm just reporting information as I received it.Relax. I'm not saying you're giving false information. I'm just noting a trend/theme across threads, and suggesting you use a bit more tact. As you know, the application process is stressful and a bit of bedside manner goes a long way.

How?
What?
It's a message board
o. O
Bedside manner?
It's.... Ahhhh... So many feelings.
We're all future doctors and caring folks.
i couldnt have said it better myself
Then go point it out in those threads like HMS and Penn if you care so much about a premed message board. (And you obviously do care so don't pull that **** where you suddenly say you don't care and make me look like I'm the one riling up)Reporting information... Except those which "are speculation, no doubt" (apropos your previous post). It's not the first time you've said "it's over" and stressed people out, and others (including myself) have had to set the record straight. And yes, seriously, bedside manner.
Anyway, do as you wish; it was just a suggestion...I don't care one way or another (it's mildly annoying at best).
Happy weekend!

Don't be fronting and using a legitimate example to call out some random **** that don't matter. As you know, the admissions process is stressful enough without people having to read stupid ass arguments like the one we're having.
No one would have to chill if you never brought up a subject that didn't even matter that much, so good on you for taking your own advice first

Yes-- your overreaction is my fault...
Let it go 🙂
My first post interview rejection, stings a bit, but I knew my interview didn't go so well. Wasn't meant to be.
What made you feel like it didn't go well? I'm sorry to hear thatMy first post interview rejection, stings a bit, but I knew my interview didn't go so well. Wasn't meant to be.
Not sure exactly, it didn't flow very well, I got a bit tripped up over the closed file setup, and since I lived in walking distance from the school I never got myself into the right mindset that I had on previous interviews. On the positive side, UCSF was always my unspoken top choice, but I was slightly apprehensive after I left the interview becasue I just didn't feel a strong connection with the school. Maybe this sounds like I'm changing my story after the fact, but I was truely a bit worried that I would end up going there (because I wouldn't have to move/leave the city) even if I knew it wasn't the best option for me.What made you feel like it didn't go well? I totally understand. I totally understand. I'm waiting to hear back, but identify with what you've said - I live nearby, too.
Such an amazing clinical education, what a dream thoI'll join the party. +3.
I love SF, and UCSF is an excellent school, but having lived here my entire life (Bay Area Native), I would welcome a change of scenery. That, and the whole lousy-parking-grocery-lugging-SFMTA-battle is getting old. It would be nice to have less stress after a long day at work (even though over the years I've managed to refine my living situation into a rather nice set-up). I do think, however, SF would be great on an attending's salary (though admittedly the pay here is considerably lower relative to "less desirable" locations).

hey brudda, I remember you from the beginning of this cycle. chin up, we still in dis! (btw, I also performed poorly on an interview which I feel pretty bad about lol. oh well i guess...)My first post interview rejection, stings a bit, but I knew my interview didn't go so well. Wasn't meant to be.
I felt the same way! It's kind of like the universe protecting me from myself, because I know my tendency is always to choose the path of least resistance even if it's not what I think is best for me.Not sure exactly, it didn't flow very well, I got a bit tripped up over the closed file setup, and since I lived in walking distance from the school I never got myself into the right mindset that I had on previous interviews. I actually work at UCSF and the attendings I work with lament the fact that they cannot afford property here! None of them live in the city- yikes!I'll join the party. +3.
