Well, I guess I'm thinking about it different than how I previously posted. Do you think that out of the ~200 on the waitlist, those accepted so far have been taken from that list they already created a few weeks back? So, even though they just released the waitlist information, do you think that people have already come off that prior to the official waitlist notice being sent out to applicants? Basically, maybe recently accepted people were on the school's waitlist, but it was prior to the official notice being sent out
This. CU could easily fill a class with high MCAT and high GPA like a school such as Wash U but they put a much higher emphasis on other factors. I can tell you what makes my class great isn't their test scores. it is that they are genuinely interesting people.
I haven't received any emails (yes I checked my junk/spam folder). I called the admissions office and I was told to send an email to the admissions office. I thought that was weird. I sent an email and have yet to receive a reply.
This school's admission process is really not applicant friendly. Better communication and some transperancy would improve things significantly. Good luck to everyone still hoping to get in. Thankfully, I'm going to my state school but I still felt the need to share my opinion. #GoSioux 😉
Tell me about it. I already had a bad feeling about this when they gave me the wrong interview date and didn't tell me until after I bought a non-refundable travel package of flights, hotel, and rental car for three. But glad I received some closure as I was rejected without being waitlisted despite thinking I had my best interview here...
Depends on the block but typically once every 2-3 weeks.
I'm top third, and it says "top priority" as well. I would expect that to be the same for everyone in the top third, or else that would be pretty sneaky haha.
When I applied last year I never got one.
You get a stethoscope at white coat donated by the alumni association. That is really all that you absolutely need (They will suggest getting a BP cuff and an otoscope/opthalmascope but that is entirely unnecessary and I have yet to need them).
Leadership and volunteering are definitely things CU emphasizes and are the things that yield the difference between acceptance vs waitlist or rejection. Unless your GPA and MCAT are well below average there are probably other areas that are higher yield to improve.

Well if it's any consolation, a couple weeks after my interview I got a call from an unknown Aurora, CO number. So naturally I'm already freaking out and the women on the line introduced herself as a representative from the University of Colorado School of Medicine....at this point I'm waiting for the glorious offer of admission that has been so elusive. But the nice lady continues to inform me that the university is conducting a health study and is looking for CO residents to participate and wanted to know If I would be interested....Needless to say, that phone call added a few grey hairs

They mentioned that last week they started meeting about selecting people for CSB. I would imagine that decisions would go out in a week or 2.
