I've been applicant in progress since August.... does anyone know if there have been any pre II rejections? It seems like in previous years it occurred during the last week of November, but I don't know if they have given pre II rejections this year..

I believe some posters have reported a portal status indicating a final decision had been reached pre-II. A pre-II final decision would be a rejection.

Oops. I guess I was wrong. Apparently I got last year's thread mixed up with this year's in my mind. I should have verified it before I posted.

Did you application status change, or are you still decision pending?

My application status did change a few weeks ago, I believe it was the Wednesday right before Thanksgiving(11/25) and I had the final decision w/o additional correspondence.

yeah it's tomorrow according to one of the admissions directors on my interview day. We were there Nov 17th (2 days before the Nov committee meeting date) and he wanted us to know we'd be decided on with the next pool, which undergoes review tomorrow with decisions to be released definitely by Xmas for nov 17-mid December interviewees

I don't think so. In the past when people have been rejected, they can still log in but they will see a status indicating that a final decision has been reached (pre-II). I would call the admissions office if you're having trouble logging in!

Not completely sure, but would assume that it would happen in the later part of the day since it's still early and they probably have yet to meet.

It's to the point where I'm actually excited to work holiday retail for 7 hours tonight because it means I can't be tempted to sit in front of the computer with twitching hands trying not to refresh the portal every sixty seconds

That's the problem with being a software engineer; I'm constantly on my computer with access to the internet.

That's my general game plan too. Not sure I'll be able to stick to it, though. I'm in the same decision pending boat as you, though.

The dean who spoke to us at my interview said they're gonna try to get fat packets out before Christmas. But posts from last cycle had some people getting them a few days after Christmas. The CBC email should come in a few days if you got accepted.

UIC has a 70% post-interview acceptance rate.
