HOLY MOLY!!!! So....I checked my email earlier and didn't notice anything huge (like from an xxxadminxxx sender)...so I just checked the email from AMCAS about the same old letter that has not come (-_-) and then checked here. I was about to ask if anyone actually could bring truth to this "Labor of Love" from UMich....but then my laptop died....

2 Hours later...I check my email again and was about to delete some junk mail (from Princeton review) and notice this random email from a Carol ...???Carol...

I GOT AN INVITE!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT>>> DREAM COME TRUE! ahhaha honestly this is so crazy! 😀

EDIT: LizzyM <65; Not sure where to check when I was completed/reviewed, sent secondaries/payment processed, etc. But it says sent: July 6th 4:14pm PST

EDIT2: OS 😛 forgot that too! No UMich ties at all!

Such a let down to see an email today from UM, but not about an interview...merely about an "Upcoming Chat with Michigan Med Students" 🙁

For all those who have already completed the Interview Confirmation, are they using the first two short essay questions for any reason? As in are they weighing these questions in the decision process or is it just additional information for reference?

Do you guys think we'll recieve any interview invites from Umich today?

Their twitter says that they sent out 22 invites today.

They don't really say specifically but I think it's probably more information for the interview and is fair game for the decision process.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!! Interview invite at 2:39 PM. Thought I was passed over again. Didn't even look at my email until just now.
Stats in MDAPPS. Can a Spartan become a Wolverine. HELL YES!!!

When were you complete/stats?

When were you complete/stats?
Stats in MDApps. IS, 3.95 GPA, latest MCAT 34 (earlier MCAT 26 2.5 years ago, we don't like to think about that one).
I was complete mid July sometime. Definitely not an early II invite, not with the rock stars, and not a U of M undergrad.
Scheduled interview for mid December.

Subject:Our Path Forward

Colleagues,

Over the last few months, I’ve provided a few updates regarding my initial assessments and observations. Today, I’d like to share my vision for our health system’s future and a few organizational changes.

From your feedback and insights, along with other academic leaders and healthcare industry experts, I recognize we have some specific opportunities that will help us grow as a premier academic medical center. We have done well in the past, but there is no question we can do better.

In order for us to succeed in a constantly changing healthcare landscape, we need to make strides in 2 key areas:

1. Greater integration of our clinical enterprise and our medical school. This will promote greater innovation and progress in how we deliver care.
2. Greater collaboration between our health system research and the University’s research initiatives. This will allow us to leverage the breadth and depth of the University’s resources and expertise in research.

Starting in January, my combined role of EVPMA and medical school dean will facilitate greater connections across the health system. The medical school, thanks to the past leadership of Dean Jim Woolliscroft, is in an excellent position to help elevate the academic medical center. Under Jim, the medical school continues to be ranked among the best in the country and I hope to continue his good work.

In addition to the change in my role, we need to restructure our organization so we can support strong, focused leadership on each part of our mission – clinical care, education, and research. We need talented leaders who will work together, take risks, and innovate in order to find greater connections across our organization.

In this reorganization, I’ll be adding some new positions.

The first new role will be Executive Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and President of the Hospitals, Health Centers, and U-M Medical Group. This role will be filled by Dr. Dave Spahlinger, who currently has responsibility for our ambulatory care centers and medical group practice. In his new role, Dave will also assume responsibility for our hospitals, Cancer Center, and Cardiovascular Center.

A second key position will be a key resource for Dave. This position is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Hospitals, Health Centers, and U-M Medical Group. This role will be filled by Tony Denton, who is currently our acting CEO and COO for Hospitals and Health Centers.

Both Dave and Tony have made excellent contributions to the health system and I have every confidence they will excel in their new roles, which are both effective January 1, 2016.

As we look forward, there are other specific areas where we’ll need a stronger focus and strong leaders:

·Academic affairs and education programs in the Medical School
·Research and greater collaboration across the system and University
·Information Technology and integrated vision for how we leverage data and technology

Between now and year-end, we will be searching for leaders in each of these key areas.

This is just the beginning of a larger process to define the specific strategies that will move us forward. Our leaders and their teams will be charged to collaborate, innovate, and take risks to help us succeed in the future.

This is a dynamic, exciting time for us. I believe we have the resources, energy, and talent to improve in all 3 parts of our mission, and to improve the lives of our patients and families.

I hope you are as excited and positive as I am about our future. I thank you for all you do and look forward to our future path together.

Does Umich send out mass rejections much later in the cycle? Or have people been flat-out rejected yet?
