Can you post some of your EC because I have the exact same GPA and MCAT? Just trying to figure out where my application's weak point is.
 
Letter request from Mayo (MN)! Feel very fortunate to have it.

Rochester alone is just such a beautiful place to live, work, and go to med school!

+1. Just got it this morning. Though looks like both Mayo schools use the same rejection letter.

Rejected as well.. Bummer.. This is my second one now. First was from Chicago Pritzker. I guess rejections come before interview invites though, right?

3.95, 517, average ECs, Canadian

First rejection, kind of hurts.

3.98, 518, thought my EC's were pretty good.

I would assume they're compiling their first batch of II and, while doing so, being respectful enough to let those know they're not in the running anymore. It's better than radio silence.
 
I'm so sorry to hear about the rejections! 🙁 Were these pre- or post-LOR request?
 
If one gets a LOR request, what parts of the application had mayo looked at and found good?

Best of luck to everybody who have been rejected. I'm sure we'll all have a successful cycle. Remember, it's mostly what we'll do in med school that matters, not where we go.

And to those of us waiting to hear back about potential interviews, I hope we're all lucky enough to see each other come that day.
 
When does the first cycle of II go out usually?

Talked to the admissions coordinator today because I had another question. Anyways she said they are projecting to send the first batch during the first week of August or latest, the second week. She said it will trickle out slowly at first but during the main part of admissions season, invites should go out pretty quickly

I don't think anyone who got a LoR request has gotten a rejection because committee hasn't even come out with who they want to interview yet--that's what she seemed to imply.

No problem--I'm excited but also pretty freaked out about all of this so it calms me down 😛
I'm honestly pretty surprised that I got a LoR so I'm kinda bracing myself for a rejection which isn't optimistic thinking but oh well
 
Anyone get the fee received email this week but no LOR / rejection yet?? Still holding on here...:/

Ooh sorry but I have no idea 🙁 I only applied to the Minnesota campus. But I don't see why it wouldnt' apply to both!

Each campus has their own independent adcom. Same standards, but different timelines, depending on how fast each one works and what volume of apps each campus received. I wouldn't worry about it yet.

LOR request today! Fee received one week ago. Only from MN though, still waiting on AZ.

If I am receiving a LOR from someone not associated with an official organization, what would that person use/include to fulfill the "official letterhead" requirement for Mayo? Would it just be their name and address, or something more? Thanks!

I would definitely recommend calling admissions to ask. They seemed pretty helpful from other people's interactions.

It is hard to comment further without more details on the situation though.

I had that too - one of mine didn't use official letterhead (I'm not sure what she used but it was likely her contact info). That letter was verified by Mayo no problem.
