Just got an email from the dean gauging my interest. At this point, I have no clue what it means but let’s see how it works out this time lol

Why do you say they are random?I received one as well from the Florida Dean, though it seems these are probably random. Sent a letter of intent back in January.
Just based on past threads they don't seem super correlated with getting off the waitlist. but honestly who knowsWhy do you say they are random?
From what I have gathered, Mayo has a super weird processJust based on past threads they don't seem super correlated with getting off the waitlist. but honestly who knows
It is possible but less likely since in the past people have gotten off waitlists b4 April 30th (at other schools I've seen)At this point we've already waited so long, but is it possible to hear back May 1st? Or will the earliest most likely be the 2nd
I'm thinking similar but not necessarily same. Probably most come at beginning of May/ first week.Hey! So it seems like most acceptances off of the WL came on the 2nd last year... are we thinking that this year might be the same?
also withdrew WL and got confirmation email from MayoWithdrew WL, best of luck everyone
Woooohoooo!! R u gonna go?Just got in off the WL! MN campus
Edit: I got the highly interested email and phone call the first time around but was put on the WL and then got another one a week ago from the dean
I got the phone call for Cleveland clinic right after and I was plan to enroll for NW so rn I’m waiting for financial aid to be complete so I can make an informed choice 😭 I’m beyond excited thoughWoooohoooo!! R u gonna go?
Now u have full tuition 😎 at leastI got the phone call for Cleveland clinic right after and I was plan to enroll for NW so rn I’m waiting for financial aid to be complete so I can make an informed choice 😭 I’m beyond excited though
I feel like that’s how most waitlists workDoes Mayo typically reject people off the waitlist? I was looking on last year's SDN and it looks like they just ghost waitlisted applicants until the end of the cycle??
There is. For first round admitted students, it was somewhere on AMPIs there a GroupMe for Mayo?
Yeah, you'll get access to it through your portal. Don't want to share it here; all the other GroupMe's got hit with spam if they were shared publicly. There is. For first round admitted students, it was somewhere on AMP
Your wild!Just got the call off the waitlist (AZ campus I believe). Been a crazy 24 hours.
I hope soDo we think there will be another round of invites this week or likely not?
Yes, I bet there will as people get off other WLs.I hope so
Which campus?Hi All! Just got an A off the waitlist I also got a highly interested email a few weeks back!
MN 4-year track!Which campus?
It was somewhere in the Second Look tab in the portal for me.Does anyone have the AZ track match-list for this year? having some difficulty finding it
Brilliant thank youIt was somewhere in the Second Look tab in the portal for me.
Are you going to attend 😈Just got an A for MN 4 year! Got the interest gauging email last night
Congrats!! I also got the highly interested email last night but haven’t heard back yet. If you don’t mind, did they tell you any information about your fin aid? And in your response, did you say that you would attend if accepted?Just got an A for MN 4 year! Got the interest gauging email last night
Yes!Are you going to attend 😈
Probably. While I think that the initial post-CTE wave is probably over, they have accepted a few people in May/June in the past. I would recommend preparing to move forward with the options you have just in case you don't get the news you were hoping for, though. Good luck. What are we thinking? Is there hope still to get off the waitlist?
If I recall, it's a mix of both (not certain though)Does Mayo have NBME or in-house exams?
It is a mix! You will have a NBME available to take for just about every preclinical block, but they don't always have a big impact on your grades. For some blocks, they will function as a final exam. For others, there will be an in-house exam and the NBME is mostly for practice (counts for like 5% or something). This if they haven't changed it, which I doubt they have.If I recall, it's a mix of both (not certain though)
So the Florida campus has a 100% yield rn?For MN/FL and AZ/FL, I have been informed that no one has been pulled off the WL yet … but some accepted applicants are still PTE
Wow, hopefully the waitlist calls will happen soon then 😭FL will probably only have max 2 people taken off the waitlist yield is super high this year
